About the Provider

Description: Young Explorers is the most popular preschool in Streetsboro. In fact, each year, one of every three children entering Streetsboro kindergarten is a YE graduate! We're proud that hundreds of parents have selected YE to teach their children, and we work hard to continue our tradition of excellence. Warm and welcoming, our custom built facility is the pride of family-oriented Streetsboro. Our students begin the day in their homeroom, then visit the gym, music room, and playground for recess. Library loft time is a special place to enjoy reading activities. A home-made lunch is prepared by our cook each day, with fresh choices for fruits and veggies. This private school is accessed by our members with their unique personal door code, for peace of mind. Playing on the classroom's shady porch, rolling down the grassy playground hill, and giggling with friends are fond pastimes for our students. We would love to show you how your child can flourish with us. Thank you. Please call 330-626-3835 to chat with our directress, Ms. Eileen Osborn. After August 15th, openings become limited.

I have toured this provider's facility, but have not used its services

If your child has special needs do not even plan on visiting YE. My son has ASD and was refused service. The director's exact words were "I am sure he can't come here". We were supposed to visit for an hour. She gave him 15 minutes of unstructured time and decided he could not attend. I am blown away and deeply hurt by her ignorance and discrimination. We're supposed to teach our children acceptance of others even if they are different. It is apparent that is not the director's motto.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

Coming from our previous daycare (LCR), this was like waking up from a nightmare! The staff is outstanding with all of the teachers either already having degrees in Early Childhood Education or actively working towards them.

The facility is gorgeous and always clean, with a very nice indoor gym, which all rooms but Infants 1 attend each day. They also wash hands before eating without fail (something we never saw before).

Your child is in the same room with the same teachers every day regardless of attendance and will have a consistent schedule filled with play, music, art, sensory, science, etc. My child is constantly doing projects and her knowledge just exploded after starting here.

The teachers are also caring and everyone is concerned about your child and will come in for cuddles if they need to.

Kids are moved up based on readiness so if you have an advanced infant they won't be stuck in the infants room.

We just love it here, it is absolutely worth the money, and we trust the staff. Our child is thriving. Annette in the second infants room is just a blessing, and we are so honored to have had a child in her classroom.

The director and assistant director are amazing people.

However,if extremely overpriced babysitting is what you are looking for, then Young Explorers - Streetsboro is the place for you. When enrolled there, many of the summer activities for their "camp" were cancelled or cut short for no reason. They spent many days watching movies instead of the planned events. The child care and summer camp at the church next door is a much better value with a great curriculum.

Also, although not encouraged, it appears that bullying is either tolerated or condoned by some of the teachers despite the director's and AD's zero tolerance for it.

Where does YE get their numbers for their proud 1 out of every 3 students entering Streetsboro's kingergarten is a YE graduate? Streetsboro has eight kingergarten classes. Say there is an average of 20 students per class, then their statistic would represent approximately 53 new kindergartners just for Streetsboro each year from YE. We do not believe this to be accurate.

There are many pre-schools and daycares in Streetsboro that offer an equal if not better program than YE for a better value.
