About the Provider

Wade King Elementary School aims to develop knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate, principled, and action-oriented young people through a rigorous program of inquiry. King students become internationally-minded individuals who help create a better world. Wade King Elementary is a learning community of adults and children, offering the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program. Building upon the understanding of their own cultures, community members acquire a second language and gain a deeper understanding and respect for other cultures and global interactions. Learners apply and use their skills and knowledge through six transdisciplinary themes of inquiry and take meaningful action based on their new learnings. Student success is a shared responsibility among school, home and community. Individuals respond to high expectations for learning and behaving. Children are naturally curious and want to learn about their world. Modeling and demonstration have a powerful influence on learning. Successful inquiry often empowers the learner to take meaningful action. Risk-taking and making mistakes are a valuable, positive aspect of learning. Resiliency and life-long learning are necessary skills for success in our rapidly globalizing world.
