Hello! I’m Chris, a military spouse and mother of 4 young adults. I operate Wiggins Family Child Care, an infant only child care home in Newport News, VA. I provide a loving, nurturing environment which encourages reaching the natural developmental milestones of each child. I choose to keep my program small (4 infants) and limited to children ages 6 weeks to 24 months so that I may provide lots of one on one time with each child. I love the first 2 years of a child’s life as they are learning so much and it is so exciting to be a part of that journey. I encourage exploration and play as a means of learning about the world around them. We spend our day playing with many different types of toys; singing and dancing; reading books; playing outside or going on walks; doing arts and crafts; napping; and eating nutritious meals and snacks. I truly believe I have the best job in the world as I get to snuggle and play with babies all day. What could be better than that!? My child care home is open Monday-Friday 7am-6pm. I provide meals based on the USDA guidelines for nutrition for infants and young children and includes breakfast, AM snack, lunch, and PM snack. I have 7+ years of experience caring for infants and toddlers in a child care setting. I am CPR/ First Aid certified and have completed a Practical Nursing program. My home meets all health and safety standards the state requires, I carry liability insurance and I’m undergoing the process to register my child care home with the state. My weekly rate is $145 and includes everything your child will need throughout the day except diapers. For an additional fee diapers can also be provided.
