Description: The sensorial training method of Montessori is to help the young child meet the world around them through the constant use of all their senses. The Sensorial Materials in the Montessori classroom educates the child’s senses by making them aware of details such as color, weight, shape, texture, size, sound, smell, etc. The materials help the child to distinguish, to categorize, and to relate new information to what they already know.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. We've had kids at Village Play School (also known as Village Montessori) since spring of 2014. Overall, our experience has been great. Both of my kids have learned so much there and really enjoyed there time. The teachers, for the most part, are kind and caring. It's important to note, that I think the school has gotten away from their Montessori roots. While it is still the basis of how they plan their day and how they teach, it is not as prevalent as it once was and most of the teachers are not Montessori certified. This is disappointing, because we pay a lot of money to go here. Also, they are very "old school" as in no electronic payments. We have to write checks every week. The director, Laura, is amazing. She will work with you to solve any problems that arise. I would recommend anyone take a look.
