Description: The UCP Afterschool Program (MOST) offers children with special needs a structured Afterschool activities/recreation program.
Each of our programs provide learning opportunities to increase or maintain age appropriate developmental milestones. This is done through a comprehensive skill development process in the areas of literacy/reading, math, physical fitness, nutrition and daily living activities to children in Broward County.
Our therapies (music, art, drama) provide the children an opportunity to increase self-expression, work as a group and better communicate feelings. Also,by introducing nutrition into the daily activity schedule, we have the opportunity to discuss with the children the importance of healthy eating habits and basic concepts of nutrition. Our regularly scheduled field trips give the children an opportunity to experience things they might otherwise miss, while also realizing that learning is fun!
Ultimately, our goal is to create an afterschool/out of school/summer safe, structured environment in which children have fun, make friends, learn social literacy, math, science and daily living skills.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.

From an outsiders point of view, this company believes all children deserve a right to an equal education. The company shoves as many students they can in a room. Co-teaching is not working, some teachers are lazy and all the work falls on the other teacher. Students in prek have up to 19 students, children in K+ have up to 22 kids. All the students have special needs except a handful -- how is this model working?! Yes all children deserve a right to an equal education but they need to be in their least restrictive environment not shoved into a room with a bunch of kids. Assistants are way underpaid. Children have severe needs and teachers are constantly scrabbling to do as much as they can. However, the higher functioning students fall behind, and the lower functioning students are not receiving all of their services. Need a new CEO, and managers who actually care. They also need more support, behavior therapist on site ALWAYS, management who actually have experience with special needs. The list goes on and on. I feel for these kids!
