About the Provider

Description: TLC provides a clean, safe, healthy environment where every child can develop emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially. We are committed to providing safety and security for all children. TLC encourages learning and growth through play in an environment designed to strengthen your child’s muscles, build coordination, stretch his/her imagination, and to learn in a way that is fun and enjoyable.
We believe that children should be allowed to grow at their own pace and to learn in ways that help them become confident in themselves as learners. Our goal is to provide all of the children with a clean, safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment. Respect toward self, others and the environment will be emphasized. We believe in the value of both structured and unstructured activities. Structured activities will include the use of a preschool curriculum, regular reading times, circle times, arts and crafts, gross motor activities and musical activities. Outdoor play and center times are some of the more flexible and unstructured activities which we offer. It is our goal to create an environment and program which enhances the child’s natural desire to learn through meaningful, appropriate, and playful activities.
TLC is a full day program available Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. In order to reap the full benefits of the program, 4 year old students are hopefully able to attend Monday thru Friday from at least 9am to 3pm. This program was designed to prepare students for Kindergarten, whether it be the following year or two years ahead.

I am the owner

Update:TLC has tripled in student body size since opening in January 2014. We continue to offer quality preschool education to all 3&4 yr. olds who are able to function in a more structured environment. TLC is not for everyone but those who attend will most certainly reap the benefits of being well prepared for Kindergarten when the time comes. My current students who were recently screened for Kindergarten were all told that they are " more than ready for Kindergarten". I am proud to say that TLC has been a huge success!

An update. . .My son Timothy Thomas Eronimous is THRIVING in the Liberty Pre-K program. He is excited to go every morning. He is eager to learn and follow his teachers lead. His teachers loving guidance has made ALL the diference in his educational experience. There is a stark contrast in his described "behavior" at the DAY CARE as opposed to that in the Pre-K class he now attends. Children know they're being patronized and will act accordingly.

After a horrible experience at Liberty Public Pre-K we decided to give TLC a try. Our family is so glad! My child was there the very first day and will "graduate" into kindergarten this summer. Ms. Terri is the best teacher ever. Kind, compassionate, firm when necessary. I often enjoy watching my child interact with her and the other children. My beginning reader is now a super star thanks to Ms. Terri's diligence and her excellent staff.

The school itself is large, bright, and full of "centers" that the children love. There is 2 classrooms, an art room, large play areas and playground. Everyday is a new adventure for the children, but with a strong emphasis on learning and routines. Math, alphabet, reading, songs, crafts, and yoga are some of the activities the children enjoy daily. Birthday parties, obstacle courses, movies, computer games, parachute time, dancing and dress up are popular as well. The children learn about life cycle of butterflies and ants with the class "pets". They also share things about themselves in the "Star of the Week" program. Lunch (which is brought from home so you know your child will eat) is used to encourage healthy eating habits as well as pepper table manners and conversations. Nap/quiet time is provided and USED! My child grew out of naps long ago, but they learn and play so hard they ALL fall asleep! The afternoons are filled with snack, learning, outside and inside free time.

If you are looking for a daycare and your child is not used to a school atmosphere (like perhaps the "Timothy" child from one negative poster) then DO NOT send your child here. This is NOT a daycare... It IS A school. Sure there is free time, but not a lot, and definitely not for children who like to run free and wild.

Its a shame that some parents can't recognize their own children's (and thier own) weaknesses and instead blame a facility and make up things to make a teacher look bad. Ms. Terri has never been anything but honest and caring towards any of the children or parents. I truly believe she wants the best fit each child, even if that means they can't come to her school. I am very anxious about my child going to kindergarten simply because no teacher will ever live up to the standards Ms. Terri has set.

If your child needs this kind of environment, can learn to follow rules and routines, wants to make life long friends, learn above the curve for thier age, and have fun whilst doing it... Please call Ms. Terri now!

My job had moved me to an office in Monticello. I found a daycare [which was actually a preschool] in Monticello to send my twins to. They taught them and that's what I loved. They were great. Then about a year after that my job moved me to Liberty and I wanted to move my children to a daycare/preschool in Liberty. I didn’t want just a daycare, I wanted another educational environment but I couldn't find one that came close to the preschool they were attending in Monticello. I wanted my twins to be in a "school like" setting again. THANK GOD my husband found TLC. A retired NYS teacher owns & runs the preschool, which we were very excited about. My twins continue to learn educational material as they previously did which is the BEST part. We can't express how happy we are that we send our children to TLC. If you want your child/children to learn throughout the day TLC is definitely worth checking out.

TLC is a program designed as a learning center. It's main objective is to prepare students for Kindergarten. Students are taught to follow rules, take turns and be respectful of other people, including the teacher. They are treated with the utmost respect and shown a great dal of compassion and love. This program is not suitable for all children. If a child is not ready for a structured program it is in the child's best interest that they be placed elsewhere.

Today I found pictures of my son posted on Facebook under the account for TLC for Young Children. I specifically signed that I did NOT want his pictures posted on the internet or made public in any way.

My son Timothy is a bright little boy who is full of energy. He will turn 4 in July. My husband and I sought out early education options in our county to socialize him and to prepare him for Kindergarten. When we first met with the owner of TLC we shared with her that our reason for bringing him there was to be around other children as he is an only child. At that time she was just opening her doors to the public and she seemed enthusiastic and confident that although he was a "busy" guy that she was more than qualified to manage him and provide him with a positive experience. His first day was March 30th and his last was April 30th. He was there twice a week Monday's and Wednesday's. Each day I would contact her mid day to see how he was doing and also ask at the end of the day when I picked him up. Each time it was "He's doing just fine" "He slept like a rock". About his fourth time there his whole demeanor changed and he was adament that he did not want to go back to Miss Terri's. As any concerned parent would do I asked him what was wrong and he would tell me "I don't know how to listen". I chocked it up to him not wanting to follow a new set of rules. . .a couple more times and he would cry when I dropped him off. On April 28th I picked him up and asked Terri how his day was. With an ingenuine smile she said "We had a rough day". She went on to explain that he was not allowed on a toy in the play yard because he was not behaving well that day. She then went on to say in front of another mother and child that she had to hire another person just to address my son's behavior. I was taken a back as this was the firt time I was hearing that she was having a hard time. It seemed a bit much since I had never heard of any problems before. With a heavy heart I went home to my Huband and we decided we should set up a meeting with her to share ideas and perhaps make a plan to address any undesireable behaviors. Before I could conatct her the next morning she had emailed me at work. She said we should meet to talk about Timothy and that we could do so when I picked him up that evening. My Husband and I went to meet with her that evening fully expecting to collaberate with a caring individual. What happened was not even close to that. She had basically decided that she no longer wanted him in her program and had collected all of his belonging to go home for good. She advised us that her program is more educational than for play and that if we wanted him socialized we should look for other options. I was shocked. . .I thought that was what we were there for. Before we left I asked her "So you hired someone just for my son. . . .not because you have taken on more full time students?" with that same ingenuine smile she insisted that she hired this person just to manage my son, even though she was only with him one time. When we got home later that evening my son asked "Do I have to go back to Miss Terri's?" Before I could answer he said "She's so pissed off at me because I touched CD in her office". I do not claim to be a saint regarding my language. But he never heard thoes words from my mouth or in our home. My heart brakes to think my son spent days in an invironment where he knew he was not wanted. Just a warning for parents who's toddlers may be just that. . . .toddlers, little kids in need of loving diection. This is not the place for you.
