The Fox's Den Childcare West

Today Thursday March 7, 2024, at approx 3:30pm, while traveling nb on Rt 3 I observed two 2 year old children outside this daycare unsupervised… They were on the grassy area next to the business sign running towards rt 3 an extremely busy roadway… I did a u turn in an adjacent driveway and pulled up next to them as they were in the roadway to stop them from crossing the busy road…
At no time was there an adult anywhere around them!!! I exited my vehicle and scolded them causing one child to run back to the daycare.. leaving my vehicle in the roadway facing oncoming traffic I activated my hazards and took the other child’s hand and followed the other child to the back of the business…. Where I observed approx 20 children in a play area supervised by 2-3 adults…. As the child ran to the enclosed area I was met by a staff member who had no idea the children were gone!!! Her response to me was “they must have escaped”…. As calmly as one person speaking to another… I myself was outraged it wasn’t taken more seriously!!!
I then contacted the Creston Police and filled out a witness statement…
I also wrote a google review to which they responded quickly and seemed offended I even made the review!! More offended than children being left unattended for an undetermined amount of time as they have no idea how long these children were outside alone unsupervised!!!
They feel this is something to sweep under the rug and only should be delt with internally!!!

I on the other hand think about how I myself or anyone else would feel should they have struck and killed one of those kids today due to the daycares neglect…

I can only hope that the daycare and or the police notified the parents of the children involved!
