The cove center is so bad that a dog should not attend. The center is always out ratio in the morning. They have all the kids (REGARDLESS OF AGE) in one room in the morning because of lack of staff. Every morning the children have cereal; they never have a hot meal. The menu isn't nutritious and what they have on the daily menu is not accurate. My child comes home every day hungry because they don't have enough food; they can't ask for second helpings.
The owner is never there. She doesn't make herself available to the parents. They never let you know when there is a snow day. They tell parents at the last minute to come pick up their child.
I wouldn't reccomend this daycare to my worst enemy. you will be dissatisfied and disappointed.
P.S. the place isn't up to code;violations are plenty. Please don't put your child in danger with people who are incompeten and incapable of of making sound decisions. it is not in your best interest to enroll your child at this center.

The staff there now are very friendly..it’s a clean place I would like for my child to go there but how my income is I can’t afford right now and the lady Michele was very rude to myself ,staff and parents.I am so glad old director not there with her dog.i heard parents say is this a shelter with animals walking around .one day I will bring my child there..to read these statements I don’t believe it...it’s a hate crime

I was hired to correct the problems that the previous person reviewed and everything she has spoken about is absolutely the truth. I met this woman in the parking lot on the day of my interview and I thought that possibly I could help and bring the center to comply and protect the children in their facility. These incidences indeed did happen and I was hired as the Director to fix the problems that are spoke of and bring them compliant. During my time there I brought in living room furniture, library books toys, dishes, things that the children were lacking in order to have a quality experience while in childcare. During my time the nephew that she speaks of the 16 year old boy was referring to me as the white lady to all the children which broke my heart. They say it is true they eat terrible food they prepare Frozen and it's unbalanced and lacks nutrition. On one occasion I found mold in the plastic cups that were washed and stored wet. When I wrote up the kitchen person Miss Lisa Russell for the incident she refused to sign the complaint and another parent heard her telling two other teachers Miss K and Miss ola that if I went into her kitchen again that she was going to beat my a**. When I brought it to the attention of MissTyus, the owner completely ignored my complaint. October 2019 I heard a child screaming a horrific scream from my office when I went to investigate I saw Mr Drew a teacher cornering a 7 year old boy with his knees pushed against him.I went and separated him from the child while walking with the child who was crying, I was comforting him. He said that Mr Drew had punched him. Another child came in my office a 10 year old boy and told me that he witnessed this teacher punching him. I had him write down everything he witnessed and he signed it. That evening I called the state of Michigan and reported the incident this happened on a Friday. On Monday the state of Michigan came and began its investigation. On Tuesday I had to fire mr. Drew for the incident( since my absence they have rehired him back despite the treatment that he was doing to that child) and on Wednesday I was fired from The Cove Learning Center for reporting the incidents and calling the police on them. I'm also telling you parents that the owner Ms.Tyus is on a 7 year suspension of her food program license for committing fraud in her last Center that's why she opened this one up under a different name in a different location. She is currently on a three-year suspension having four more years to serve and still hasn't learned anything still feeding the children horrible food. Not buying them soap and paper towels to wash their hands. I was purchasing these things because I knew they needed to have them. I put all the parent bulletin boards up with fire drills and menus and lesson plans that no other director before me had even done. I did all the painting in the facility I did everything to make that place cheerful for those children. Everything that was in those reports is the absolute truth! and I did everything I could to fix what was wrong. I care very deeply for those children and I got nothing but backlash from several of the employees there. The state of Michigan continued with their investigation after I left and I got a letter telling me that they didn't find anything wrong which really leads me to wonder because they did not ask for the written statement from the child I can't believe that they're saying nothing happened it just makes me wonder what the heck is wrong with this whole setup I'm telling you this parent told the truth and so am I.

On JULY 12 my son Ordrick Craig was assaulted by a staff members named MS K he told me multiple times on 9 different days and occasions the same story he went to pick up his toy she slapped him in the back of his head yelled GO SIT DOWN followed by a punch to the back of his arm. When I told them my son talk to 4 employees their not including the teacher who assaulted him not including the owner of the building who was the previous owner of tiny town university which was closed because of the bad reviews. They did nothing to discipline this women instead they put her in the office and said she wouldn’t be around my son but her 16 year old nephew would because that’s who the hired to replace her. My son said no I fear that she might come in the classroom and hit me again or do something to my food. I proceed to let my youngest go to the center because his teacher assured me she would not let him come near her I was told by 3 employees their Ms K is nasty and rude and talks to the kids like dogs my oldest also told me she hit another kid their. After a week goes by the state comes in the building and they all lied on my child except one teacher and she was fired for telling the truth I find it funny how you fire her for speaking the truth but the lady who actually assaulted my son sits in that office today with a job so immediately take my youngest out the program they send out a letter and make it sound as if my son wasn’t assaulted by ms k but instead by the teacher whom she fired for telling the truth. Another parent question them and they tried to jump on her so she has taken her kid out the program as well I’ve been told by employees in the past that they are not a good center they don’t feed the kids right and I’ve witnessed them changing 2 year old kids standing up in front of the class just a day before I took my youngest out the program I don’t appreciate them and they need to be closed down and the owner should have her care revoke I also hve other parents tell me how they make the kids clean the bathroom because they do not have enough staff to clean up the bathroom so they lie and say somebody made a mess in the bathroom and since nobody won’t come clean they all have to do it even my oldest son was apart of this group and the reason ms k hasn’t been fired is because she is a friend of the family.
