I have worked at T town for sometime now. It’s sad to see this place becoming worse then it was. All of the “negative” are more like truthful reviews. They aren’t all from “disgruntled employees” as the owners like to say. I am posting a review because I am tired of everything going on and be swept under the rug.
We just had an inspection in January and we still DO NOT HAVE SAFE DRINKING WATER it’s March! Yes you read that correctly and if you would like to view this for yourself it is on the compass pa child care website. You can view all of the inspections there in very great detail.
The Owner has not obtained a safe drinking water certification as of 11/9/2022 and the department of human services found on 1/6/2023 that there was still no certification identifying that the water is NOT safe to use for anything. Which means the children and us staff members should not be here. This place should be shut down because off all the issues it has.
The food is not as FRESH as it is claimed to be. The “cook” doesn’t even wear gloves while she is preparing food and then passing it out. I do not see any of the teachers really wash their hands. It is like no one here knows how to clean or be clean themselves.
The high standing reviews are mainly from the owner and her “friends”. The Owner Sue comes on here and post high standing reviews just so it doesn’t look like the daycare is actually terrible. We are constantly hiring new people just to watch them leave because they realize how crazy the owner Sue is.
I and many other staff members are honestly so thankful they are moving to Arizona soon and Sue will not be around. The owner causes most of the drama with staff and families. She is also really good at lying to people and trying to make others look bad. Sue has done this to some of the employees who have left recently.
Trust me take your kid somewhere else. We will be closed in under 2 years. It always was and still is a failing business.
The 1 star is given for their healthy meals/snacks. That’s it. I love how the owner calls all of her past employees “disgruntled employees” when they are leaving truthful reviews. Reading all of these reviews and speaking to past employees I’m glad that I didn’t follow through with my application to work here. I’ve heard from current and previous employees that this place has gotten a lot worse since Sue’s assistant, Meghan, left. I’ve heard a lot of negative and not a lot of positive about this place from past/current employees and parents. The only reason why some parents take their kids here is because they work at Cargill and this place opens earlier than Wyalusing Children’s Center. If you have the choice I would choose to work somewhere else and take your child elsewhere. This place needs new ownership. This owner has on her Facebook that she wants to retire. I think that’s in the best interest for this business. Either sell or shut down.
I am a current employee and have been there for 2 years. I am in the infant room and have been for a year and a half and I can tell you that what Kate said in her post is 100% absolutely absurd and not correct. We do NOT give formula or milk to infants that are on breastmilk. NONE of the infants have gone home covered in bruises and they are most certainly not from an employee. I am appalled that someone would make these accusations. I personally love and adore each and every one of the infants I care for and treat them as if they were my own children with love.
They switched my sims breastmilk for formula. They’re extremely rude and unprofessional. My son would come back from daycare with bruises all over him and they would say a child did it when they weee CLEARLY from an adult hand. I’ve also heard how the owner talks to her staff and it’s disgusting. I will be contacting the better business bureau, this place needs to be shut down.
Don’t take your kids here if you love them.
I am only putting TWO stars because the staff is amazing but the owner is a complete b****, the way she treats her staff is ridiculous and the way she talks about the children is cruel and disgusting. Anytime a child cries she instantly is saying “this is ridiculous” or they are “pathetic”. Not only do I not recommend sending your kids here, but I also do not recommend working here. Your paychecks will bounce. $10.50 is not worth the s*** you deal with there.
This place is not horrible like all of these reviews are saying. Ex employees are trying to stir up drama and make the owner look like crap! I never had an issue with the owner at all. They treat the kids with nothing but respect and love! All the employees there have to have background checks and all kinds of certifications to even work there! I can promise that your kids are safe. Stop listening to ex employees!
I Love this place, very caring and nurturing.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I highly recommend that you read and listen to all the “negative” reviews on this place. I have seen first hand what this place is like and it is awful. One of the worst daycares in the area by far. There are most certainly some great staff that work here, but the management, as previously mentioned by others, is terrible. Sue lies, gossips, and treats the children and parents like garbage. Children are not treated with the greatest care, there is chicken poop scattered around the outside of the building, it sticks, and is a very unprofessional atmosphere. I recommend that you do not work for nor take your children to T-Town Childcare. They will not be taken care of like you hope , and they might even put athletes foot cream on a baby rash (yes, Sue did that). It doesn’t matter how many times state gets called and they get turned in because Sue just lies and brainwashes her employees.
DO NOT WORK OR TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE
Children are screamed at and dragged to couches. Daycare has almost been shut down from owner not paying property taxes ( was in the newspaper) inspections where never good, weather it was from not having proper paperwork ,to not labeling baby bottles, or a child being unattended. Children are not treated very well. The teacher named Megan is extremely mean to the children and wouldn't even have them engage in any sort of crafts. Some of the workers are very nice, others not so much. The biggest problem is the owner creates drama between the workers and forms clicks. At one point had a worker who didn’t even have clearances because she had been arrested and the owner continued to allow her to work around children. The one had an underage drinking charge and continued working with the children. The owner is trying to re brand to cover up the fact her daycare is failing because she can’t be professional and can’t manage her finances. She talks about parents to employees weather it’s from late payments, to just her not liking the parent, or finding out the parent had the day off and still brought child in. Very two faced to everyone. Employees are in the dark about how she really is but as soon as they leave they realize how unprofessional she is. SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. Unsanitary, gloves are not even used when changing diapers. I’ve seen it myself. All the reviews about this place being awful is true. Please for the love of god do not take your child there, and please do not work there. Employees never last children never see the same faces because owner is drama filled. It may say drama free but the owner lives off drama so “DRAMA FREE” is a complete lie. Pick wyalusing valley daycare
I was so glad to open this up and read the truth.
After hearing rumors of bounced checks, I still decided to work for T-Town.
Within a month my check bounced. Not only once!
The girls that work there are in the dark, they think this is normal.
Teachers are good. They do a good job most of the time.
And yes the yelling and dragging kids is true! If you are a parent and don't see it, well of course! You won't see it they won't do it until you're gone!
Place is a joke. Go somewhere else.
This daycare is a nice place to send your child. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the place. Kids are well taken care of, teachers work hard and love their students. Meals are wonderful. That is all that should matter!
Reading the reviews you would think this daycare was hell on earth. It is NOT a horrible awful place to send your children but it is not the best place in the world either.
I worked here for a short time and my child went too. I did see a lot of screaming and yelling which made me uncomfortable right from the start. The yelling and screaming was never from the teachers but from the owner.
The owner is very bossy and likes to have her hands in every single thing that goes on. It is not a bad thing but it makes a lot of the teachers unhappy. The camera ( 1 camera) is NOT for the kids it is so the owner can watch the teachers go in and out.it was always pointed at the sheet to sign in. The owner has a gossiping problem. It was noticed by all teachers and some parents.
People quit all the time, their are new teachers all the time which makes parents angry.
paychecks did bounce. I was not there at the time but I know for a fact they bounced severral times causing a lot of people to leave! I was with another teacher when she found out hers bounced! I was glad I left when I did.
Teachers were always good with all the kids and followed all the ratios so that was a lie. If we had to go to the bathroom we would have to call someone to cover us even when the kids were sleeping. Ratio was always right.
The teachers were good people who did good with the kids when I was there. When a child was acting up the teacher used the time out couch in front of the owners office.
The place isn't 5 star but it is not unsafe. If you can put up with the owner than it is not a bad place.
Wow! I am a happy parent who has two children in attendance and have been with T-town Childcare for 4 years. I also have a flexible schedule, so I have dropped off and picked up at different times of the day. I have NEVER witnessed or heard any of the things others are stating. In my opinion, ex employees are trying to stir up trouble and drama for the owner. I am always welcomed with a smile and a warm greeting, the staff are pleasant, the cook is amazing, and both my children have learned and thrived at T-town. I don't believe the negative reviews one bit!
I love how the only positive reviews come from current employees. I’ve worked here for a brief time and let me tell you what, everything Jensen N. said in a previous review is 100% the truth and nothing but the truth. My paycheck had bounced, Sue KNEW the checks would bounce because a few other peoples did the same pay period and already informed her and didn’t have the courtesy to inform the rest of us. OH and you should all hear the S*** she talks about the parents AND the children that attend her center, and put money in her pockets. that place is a complete joke. I have seen her drag the children, scream at them in their faces, threaten them, etc. this place needs to be SHUT DOWN. i feel sorry for all the children that have no choice but to go there daily. please keep your kids save and take them somewhere else!!! I wouldn’t take a pet hamster here, let alone a child. Also, i love how her and her employees refer to all former employees as “disgruntled”.
I wouldn't give 1 star if I didn't have to. Sue acts as if she is in preschool. Very petty and very childish behavior. She should be ashamed to conduct her self in this manner. She is two-faced and talks about everybody behind their backs including the children and the other parents.
I’m a parent that takes my child to this center. When I overheard staff talking about “reviews” left on a page about this center, I had to go look for myself. Some of these reviews I can see to be very true. When picking up my child, I have noticed and witnessed behavior from the owner of the center. Some I have not liked one bit. I have heard her yell from down the hall. The owner seems to be nice to your face, but I have had conversations with her where she has been saying rude things about other people. I plan to remove my child from the center because of behavior I have witnessed and what a few other parents have gone through with the owner to decided to remove their children. I’m not happy with my child here. Also, since bringing my child here Sue has gone through so many staff and when I run into them out and about they say similar things. The staff always seem nice and caring, but the owner is ruining her business for herself.
I am not only an employee at T-Town Childcare and Rec Center but I am also a mother of an infant that attends here.
I have been employed here for 1 year and 5 months.
I don’t feel like an employee here. I feel like a family member. I LOVE coming to work every day. Although it doesn’t seem like work since I love what I do and who I work with! ALL of the employees including the owner, Sue, get along and treat each other like family.
I can confidently say that I trust ALL of the teachers here to take care of my son. My son isn’t treated different just because I am employed here. All of the teachers take care of and treat the kids in the daycare just like their own.
I, personally, have not witnessed any child being treated in a manner that would concern me (as a mother) by any of the current employees (also including Sue).
I would 100% recommend T-Town Childcare and Rec Center to anyone looking for a fun, upbeat, loving, caring daycare.
Don’t just take anyone’s word for T-Town Childcare and Rec Center. Keep an open mind and come check it out for yourself! We would all love to have you visit and make your own opinion of our daycare!
T-town is an awesome place to take your child. The owner is always available at pick up to chat and make sure everything is going okay. The teachers are helpful, friendly, and genuinely care for the kids. My child has been attending for 3 years and I have always been satisfied with the care, the owner, the staff, and their menu and what they feed the kids is fantastic. Everything is home-cooked and they even make their own baby food from organic ingredients. I highly recommend T-town Childcare!
T-town Daycare is many things, but as what described by disgruntled old employees is not even the half of it. My daughter has been coming here for two years, and every single teacher she has had was nothing but loving, and treats her as they would their own child. Sue the owner is amazing, helpful, and loves every single child. The daycare over all offers home made meals, an outstanding curriculum, and a SAFE place that feels like home, to not only the children but the parents, and staff. At T-Town Daycare we are all a big family. Aside from the part where my daughter has wonderful teachers, gets one on one help with anything she struggles with, gets a good education with the curriculum the daycare offers, healthy meals, gets to participate in the yearly float for the parade in town every year ( which all the kids LOVE, not to mention the float and costumes are always amazing) I also am employed here. It started out as a summer job, then the next summer I came back again ( of course Sue with her arms wide open) then I decided to go to nursing school. When in nursing school I realized I missed the kids, the job I had, once again sue welcomed me with her arms wide open and I am now about two weeks away from starting college for early education because of a grant that is offered from Sue. In my time working here there was employees who formed cliches, and people found different jobs and left, or just working with kids wasn’t for them, or leaving for college. But the group of staff now is just a huge family, there is no “bubbles” it’s just us a tight knit family who loves working with children. In my time working here I have NEVER had a check bounce, been asked to not cash my check, seen children get “dragged” to couches, seen kids get screamed at in their faces. What I have seen is teachers bonding with children, and becoming a family who all loves one another, children lighting up when they find out what great activities we have planned for the day, making new friends, and expanding their experiences (such as bringing a yoga instructor in). I highly suggest coming in for a tour and meeting the upbeat ,amazing, loving owner Sue, and the rest of us amazing teachers. I guarantee you will feel at home, and love our outstanding daycare and will see how we stand out from other daycares in the area.
As someone who works at this facility, I can assure you that this establishment is a wonderful place for children. All of the staff including the owner are very pleasant and care for these children in a way that can’t be put into words. Each staff member bonds with every child and learn each child’s likes and dislikes. Your child is in great hands here. Don’t let disgruntled employee’s reviews detour you from placing your child here. Come and check our wonderful place out and meet all of us! We will welcome you and your family with open arms and beautiful smiles!
Sue, I assume you think I wrote that review because of “..J, even though I allowed you to return once.” comment, but I’ll tell you now that the review was somebody else’s opinion & review of your awful center. Anyways, here’s MY opinion of Sue & her unprofessional behaviors at her child care center. So, I had worked there for around a year & a half. When i got the job, I was warned by many people about Sue. But, my first few months i didn’t believe it. I was the “new girl” there so i didn’t know all the truths to her until I started catching onto her nasty lies and behaviors. It all started when she got very jealous of two other employees & i getting close because we all worked in the infant room together. She trashed talked all of us to everybody and made a huge fit about us saying we were “in a bubble” and only talked amongst ourselves. Anyways, she threw a fit saying that if we had a problem to always come to her about it. After awhile I went straight to her with any problem I was having, anyway to improve the center. She would get pissed off and b**** about the “problem” i had to other people. No wonder nobody would go to her for anything. So, I left in March of 2019 because of these reason. When I left, I tried to give her my two weeks & work out a schedule with the other job (my other job was willing to work with the daycare hours) Sue didn’t agree and told me my last day would be the following day (Friday). A week later, I came back because honestly I had no other (job) choice. The day I left she was bawling & had her husband come in and was crying just to make me feel bad for leaving there. All while she was trash talking me the whole time before & after. When I came back, all the bullshit was still the same, until it got worse. I so wish I had videos on my phone of the way she would scream in kids faces and grab their arm and basically drag them to the couch because either they wouldn’t sleep, had an accident, wasn’t listening to a teacher, etc. She would talk s*** on children, parents & employees in person and through our employee group chat. Her checks started bouncing and would tell us employees we weren’t allowed to deposit our checks right away. (I did anyways because that’s my money that I earned). The way she paid employees was very illegal as well as ratios were illegal. I bitched the one day because she wasn’t paying overtime when i clearly had overtime she would just put it over into the next pay period. Then she started to give me overtime “pay” which was still illegal because she wasn’t doing it the proper legal way. I was told for months to go to the department of labor for these illegal issues. Also, for over a month she moved a BABY up to the YOUNG TODDLER room (the baby was around 10-11 months old at the time) putting the young toddler teacher over ratio. I said something to Sue that it wasn’t right/fair/legal and she said oh she will be fine she will turn 1 in a few weeks anyways. At that point I had dialed for the inspector to come in, but couldn’t bring myself to call because I couldn’t lose my pay. Sue would get pissed off at parents if they didn’t come in right away to get their children. I do not recommend anyone to work for Sue or even take their children to her center. It’s not a healthy safe environment for children or adults. That place is full of negativity. I left there almost two months ago, along with another employee. Now, most of her employees are leaving because of these same reasons. DONT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO T-TOWN CHILDCARE. Keep them in a safe place.
T-town Childcare treats its clients like family. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the children are all happy and engaged. I am pleased with the service we receive and recommend T-town Childcare!
This place has so much to improve on. It has so much going for it, and then you have an owner who is nothing but drama queen. She is paranoid always thinking everyone is out to get her. She treats her employees like trash! She always says everyone is causing drama when its HER! The children get SCREAMED at in there FACES instead of spoken too. The only good thing is it works around Cargill, and the food for the kids is great. The teachers wouldn't know since they aren't allowed to eat the food. The new Assistant Director and all the teachers are great and try there best but are not treated with respect.
This review was from a disgruntled former employee. It's completely false and obviously written to harm. Please come check us out yourself!
The owner is very petty to both employees and staff, she's gone through so many staff in the year she's been open it's unreal. The employees working there now are NOT certified teachers, even though she advertises them as such. The worker in the baby room smokes around the babies, holding them or pushing them in strollers outside while she's puffing away. The majority of facebook reviews are from friends of hers, NOT people who take their kids there. Sue is not nice to the children, she uses her "mean voice" (yelling) constantly and tells the employees they have to do the same. She couldn't get hired at the elem. school because none of the teachers liked her and she wouldn't follow directions, it's the same at her daycare!! Don't give her instructions, she is either too stupid or thinks she "knows better" and won't follow them!! If you disagree with her, she'll threaten to take you to court, she's fired employees because she "thought they were talking about her". Meanwhile she CONSTANTLY gossips about parents, employees, kids, everyone! PLEASE TAKE YOUR KIDS SOMEPLACE ELSE!!!
