Description: Super Kids Preschool & Kindergarten was founded in 1997 by sisters Wendy Kirsh and Christy Slagle. Wendy, then a private kindergarten teacher, and Christy, then a college student, firmly believed that they could create a premier preschool and kindergarten in which academic and social development are achieved in a safe and nurturing environment. Thus started Super Kids in a single classroom leased from a local church. Almost exclusively through word-of mouth, Super Kids quickly gained a reputation for excellence and outgrew the church facility. In 1999, Super Kids moved to its current location on Old Baltimore Pike in Newark, Delaware. As Super Kids' reputation continued to spread, so did our facilities! Now, more than eleven years and hundreds of students since first opening, Super Kids has developed into the premier and highly reputable school Wendy and Christy envisioned back in 1997.
Wendy Kirsh is Super Kids' Director and is in charge of the school's day-to-day activities. A licensed elementary teacher, a certified school administrator, and a mother of four young children, Wendy has both the professional and practical experience so critical to fostering the structured but safe and nurturing environment of Super Kids.
Dr. Christy Slagle, an optometrist and mother of two young children, is Super Kids' business administrator.

This was by far the worst daycare I have ever been to. 8 have never in my life had a teacher raise her voice and yell at my child and yanked my child roughly by the arm and any time my child would cry when I dropped him off the teacher would tell him to shut up and tell him to stop crying. The teacher was the most U compassionate, unprofessional human being and a person like that does not deserve to even work at a daycare full of children if they are as irritated and irritable towards a child crying. This was most definitely the worst decision I have ever made for my child was to go to Super Kids, and I could not be happier that my child no longer goes there nor has to deal with being mentally, emotionally, and physically abused. I have also contacted DSS about this facility.
A staff member at SuperKids lost my 4 year old daughter while she was in their care. They told me she was picked up by an older lady, but she was in the back section of the room. Thinking my mom had picked her up, I got her belongings, picked up my older son, and left. Upon leaving, I contacted my mom to find out why she had picked her up, but she hadn't. I PANICKED and returned to the daycare, and my daughter was there, crying hysterically. The teacher had signed another child out on her clip board, in my daughter's spot. But that didn't explain why she didn't know my daughter was still there. I was given a bunch of excuses by the admin, but the fact is, they didn't know where my daughter was. They also do not check IDs of people picking children up, and let anyone in the door. So much for a SECURE center!! I DO NOT recommend this daycare. I have also filed a report with the Delaware Department of Child Care Licensing, so hopefully they will be investigated thoroughly!
