I have used this provider for less than 6 months
Closes frequently or sends your child home often for illnesses, so unless you have a flexible schedule work schedule, I wouldn’t recommend. While I can appreciate it’s difficult to feed many children at once, I was not happy with the meals and snacks fed to the children. Meals were highly processed, such as frozen bagel bites, chicken nuggets constantly and the snacks were some sort of crackers, Teddy grahams. Loads of carbohydrates.
I’m expected more nutritious foods offered.
We follow all state guidelines for our sickness policy. This particular customer brought their child with exploding diarrhea and refused to come pick their child up. I had to call my state licenser and was advised to terminate care due to parent not respecting policy ( it was not the first time this parent did this).
Meals are always served with a healthy main entree ( which is always different every day) along with a vegetable and a fruit. We follow the Let’s Go program for what we serve for snacks and lunch and have received awards each year for our healthy choices served!
This review was written by a neighbor who was angry that she was terminated.
Any questions or concerns can always be asked with my state licenser Katie Danaher. We always council with Katie with any issues that occur.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months
This is not a reliable daycare. We sent our child here since infancy. When our child was an infant, we did not have significant complaints. Once our child reached toddler age we had a very different experience. The provider does not handle normal toddler behaviors well (i.e. tantrums, big feelings, controlling emotions, etc.). If your child has any difficult days expect to hear about it throughout the day. We received multiple texts during our work day if our child had any less than perfect behavior. When they are good you are made to feel like they are the perfect kid but if they have a “bad day” you are made to feel like your child is the worst kid and you’re the worst parents in the world. I’m sorry but I feel like parents and caregivers should be supportive of each other in order to allow a child to have their needs met and flourish.
She can be very difficult to deal with and has been rude to us via text or in person numerous of times. She has also complained to us about other parents, kiddos, or situations that were not appropriate or professional.
She has sent our child home on multiple occasions with just a runny nose or if she thinks they weren’t acting themselves. We can’t count how many times we had to leave work and go pick them up for slight to mild symptoms.
She has closed multiple times for snow days. This is usually one of the huge benefits of a home daycare. We have had to call out of work intermittently due to closures for snow days. Sometimes the daycare was closed before snow even started. Not to mention the policy says that there will not be any snow days.
So, if you want a reliable, supportive, loving, professional daycare then this is not the place for your family!
Well, there’s a lot here to unpack. Let me respond by saying that I’m sorry that you weren’t happy with your experience here, I wish you the best in your new daycare and beyond. I like to ensure that all the children in my care are happy, appreciated, and are returned to their parents better than when they arrived.
It is always challenging as a provider to balance the schedule of the parents of a sick child and that of the health and well-being of the rest of the children. When children are sick, they desire to be at home with mom and dad, and no amount of extra attention by a daycare provider will soothe them; this is the purpose for the sick policy in my parents handbook. I try to make accommodations an much as possible, but the sick policy in my handbook is clear with regard to what symptoms and behavior are acceptable in the daycare.
We have all lived through a very challenging time with COVID and ever changing directives, regulations, and guidelines. We’ve been hyper-vigilant with trying to keep all of our children protected from illness. Hopefully the worst is behind us.
It is true that a home daycare proprietor is always home in a snowstorm storm, but that doesn’t mean that parents should brave dangerous roads to deliver their child. In general I have been open for snow, but not for days when there has been a driving danger alert and most businesses are closed for the same reason. Many parents understand that if it is unsafe for them to drive, it is also unsafe for them to drive with their children in the car. I encourage parents to have a backup plan for these occasions.
I do work with each parent to customize the care of their child to meet their needs the best possible, and strive to honor their parenting style. Communication is very important between provider and parent, and I am saddened to hear that you’ve thought me to rude. It is difficult to transmit tone through text, but I hope you can understand that I also have several children to care for at the same time that I’m typing a message to you.
I appreciate all feedback and strive to improve in anyway I can.
