Description:
STEM Child Care is an organization focused on shaping minds through engaging lesson plans, thoughtful activities, and playful learning experiences. We strive to be more than a daycare center—our institution promotes an interactive and collaborative scholastic environment, intended to help your children thrive as they discover themselves as well as the joys of learning. What makes us special? We’re glad you asked! We place an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at the heart of our lessons. Research has shown that developing familiarity and understanding of these core areas at an early age helps improve a child’s cognitive functioning and fosters the skills necessary for success in grade school and in life. While we focus our curriculum on STEM, we believe that early education would not be complete without humanities lessons in language, the arts, and health & wellness to nurture creativity, social skills, and emotional well-being.
At STEM Child Care, we take pride in offering a safe, nurturing environment for your children that employs a proven curriculum with devoted early education and child care specialists. When you walk into STEM Child Care, you will notice the signs of a happy and safe setting: the smiling faces of students and their families, the excited chatter of children who are motivated to learn, and the bubbly voices of teachers and subject matter experts ready to welcome your children. Our center was conceived as an ideal learning environment, where children are inspired to discover and explore their interests while building meaningful friendships and learning to socialize respectfully. At the same time, our student-centered learning environment integrates the academic expectations of both local and state curriculums to ensure that our students transition effortlessly to grade school.

Don't send your child here unless you want to pay overpriced tuition fees and be worried that they're going to call you at any point telling you that you have to pick up your child because they "cannot handle" him or her.
Terrible communication and will gladly steal your money - run away as fast as you can!
We first started the enrollment process here in August and were told to pay a $2000 deposit to hold our spot in lieu of a wait list. We were told there would be an opening starting October and that we would receive the paperwork to move forward. After waiting a few weeks my wife had to reach out to Deborah because we had yet to receive anything via email. Deborah was surprised because Justin said he had already sent the paperwork, but wouldn't you know it - an email finally came through after being prompted with our call.
Hoping this was just a slight bit of miscommunication we pressed on. The next step was to set up a final meet and greet with Deborah prior to our child's starting date. We schedule an appointment (as we had been previously told that STEM was not allowing prospective parents to do walk in appointments). When we showed up for our appointment we were quickly brushed aside by Deborah for a new couple who had simply walked in and wanted to meet. So we got a nice 10 minute chat with one of the infant room teachers and left feeling again ignored and forgotten.
As STEM had outline that their payment policy was that you paid upfront for the entire month, and our child would be starting in October, we were waiting again to see any final paperwork to ensure our child would be attending October 1st.
When my wife called to ask about the start date she was assured that our start date was instead October 31st (a Sunday in case you're wondering). They then back tracked to say that the infant room did not have an opening until the 18th but our child could at least start at that point.
It was at this stage that we were forced to go with a private care giver for our child as we needed care to start at the beginning of October. I went to meet in person with Deborah regarding the $2000. She was actually quite respectful this time and after a quick discussion agreed that they would refund our $2000 and Justin would be mailing the check promptly.
2 weeks later we have still not received the check, so I called Justin and was met with the new information that, no, they would not be refunding anything and will be keeping our money.
So, if you would like your child to learn communication skills from someone incapable of picking up the phone or responding to emails in a timely fashion, learn counting from someone who gladly takes money without rendering any services they had promised, or ethics from someone who blatantly lies to customers then STEM is the school for you!
STEM Child Care is an excellent preschool! My children love the environment and have fun with the teachers and other kids every day. I’m very pleased with their progress so far and I’m happy that they are learning while having fun in the process!
