Description: St. James-Santee Elementary School is a small rural school located in the coastal community of McClellanville, South Carolina. The school has 325 students from child development and kindergarten to grade 5. Our child development and kindergarten programs are full day. The school also operates an onsite childcare center for children starting at 6 weeks of age. The childcare center, Rising Star, is a community-based partnership with St. James-Santee and the Charleston County School District. The school doors at St. James-Santee Elementary School are opened for all students at 7 a.m. We offer an after school program for students age 3-12. Extracurricular activities such as basketball, soccer, football, music, art, computer games, and dance are among several opportunities for students to engage in cultural, social and organized fun. Homework and tutorial centers are also available for academic assistance. Bus transportation is provided for all students. Our summer camp program is an extension of our after school activities. Summer camp is usually six weeks beginning in mid-June and ending in July.
