At SHepherd's Flock CHildcare, we are a Christian based childcare and learning center. It is our mission that we help our children learn to love as Christ first loved us! our primary focus is for our children grow in spiritually, physically, developmentally, socially, as well as academically. The center is now under a new director. Every effort is being made to insure the well being and saftey of our children, including constant surveilance cameras in every classroom and hallways as well as a keypad locked entry. We have strict guidelines for our teachers following DSS guidelines. We are implementing a full academic curriculum to insure that children grow academically and are ready for kindergarten.

Shepherd's Flock now has a new director and assistant director, and we have made many changes to insure that children are cared for in a safe and loving environment. There are now security cameras in every room with constant surveillance to insure the safety of the children. We have an all new faculty of teachers who go through a criminal background check and are carefully evaluated before hiring. Our number one priority is the safety, well being, and happiness of the children who attend our daycare. We are also implemented a full educational curriculum for our K3 and K4 students with supplementary material for the younger age groups to insure they meet developmental and educational goals. We are also using a new parent communication system (Bright Wheel) that enables parents to communicate with their child's teacher anytime during the day. Our number one priority are our children and our goal is to provide excellent, safe, educational, and loving child care.

Now that the "investigation" is over, Id like to make other parents aware of the neglect and abuse that my son was subjected to at Shepherds Flock Childcare, located in Callie Self Baptist Church.
At the end of February, I received a call that his teacher (Tabby Hamby) was terminated after she was caught jerking him by the ear. I was assured that everything would be handled and DSS would thoroughly investigate this. I soon found out that, she would pull him by the ear frequently.
Rewind to January, I picked him up with the cut on the back of his head , and the director, Amanda Wideman, and her staff refused to accept responsibility of what happened. I know that I didnt take my child to daycare hurt, and IF I did, then why not call??? Because that's not what happened. I was in a hurry that evening, I had to go to Walmart to get stuff for 2 parties and I remember him grabbing his head but I didn't see the cut until we walked into walmart. I immediately went to AFC express care where the doctor told me that it was evident that it had happened recently, but didn't need stitches. I was made to feel like it was their word against mine and I didn't have any other childcare options.
Last fall, I witnessed another "teacher" named Kim jerk him up and force him into a seated position. I immediately reported it to their assistant director Mary Beth, whom I assume told Amanda. Kim was never reprimanded. All that happened was, he was moved to the 3 year old room...at only 2 years old.
Amidst all of this, I have had other people as well as a current teacher let me know that these things arent uncommon. They were feeding the kids ramen noodles with ground beef more than once through the month, along with all the other junk food - I started packing his lunch.
Each day, more than one teacher, would act like they just loved him so much yet, he was ignored during the day and employees would talk about him as though he was a "bad child" and would say that I obviously don't discipline him. Another teacher would pinch his feet any time he would take his shoes off, Mallory!
That place is one big clique, how you can trust a director to DIRECT is she's best friends and having sleepovers with her employees. These people talk badly about employees they dont like, about parents, and sadly about children that they don't favor.
And what really makes me mad, is that DSS and OHAN will do nothing. And we wonder why children are continuing to be abused in daycares, homes, etc.
My 2 children have been at the center since 6weeks. The teachers are wonderful and the director goes above and beyond to keep the center great! We love Shepherds Flock
I have 3 children who attend this center for over 2yrs now. I have had nothing but an excellent experience! the teachers are all very positive and welcoming. The director is always available to speak with me when i have any questions. I would highly recommend this center to anyone!!!
My child has been going here since he was 1 year old . They love him like he is their family. I couldn't ask for better people to care for my son. I am a nurse and I work a lot so it is important for me to able to trust the people who are taking care of my son on a daily basis. They are great.
This day care is awful!!! My child was here for two weeks. It was a nightmare. Do not put your children here!!!
