Description: Daily Rhythm 8:30-9:00am Arrival and into the woods (welcome circle to start the day and snack mid-morning) 12:00pm Lunch and quiet time at the house (outside on porch weather permitting). 1:00-3:00pm Project time 3:30pm Pick up Our forest classroom is a 10-minute walk up the street in Hubbard Park. This is where we will spend the majority of our time. East facing, a mix of hardwood and softwood, flat and steep terrain, it is an ideal base for our play and explorations. A pond and meadow are nearby for further investigations and wandering (and sledding in winter). For the fall, as long as mild weather persists (hopefully mid- November) we will use the outdoor spaces at the house for afternoon work and play. As we move into the colder weather, we will take advantage of cozy indoor workspaces. Afternoon work and play might include reflection and documentation of morning discoveries in our group journal, woodworking, building, art-making, baking (in the winter), bookmaking and storytelling/acting, sewing and fiber work, clay, games...child-led, extended projects are encouraged. Currently, our group is 5-7 year olds.
