About the Provider

Round Hill Nursery School is an academic pre-school with a developmentally appropriate curriculum. The goals and activities in each classroom are designed to foster the development of expressive and receptive language, pre-reading, pre-wriitng and pre-math skills, as well as fine motor and gross motor skills. Our programs utilize a hands-on approach to learning through risk-taking and investigating in a safe and supportive environment. Individual differences, readiness levels and learning styles among our students are recognized and appreciated by our experienced faculty. Our curriculum is enriched through fields trips to places such as the New Canaan Nature Center for apple cider pressing and maple sugaring, the Bruce Museum at Thanksgiving time for a unit on Woodland Indian Family Life, trips to the Audubon and Fairchild Gardens, and SUNY Purchase to be introduced to the excitement of live theater. Of utmost importance, however, is the understanding that children learn best through play. And there is ample time for play at RHNS.
