Description: Earl Slacum and Diane Mumford cutting the Ribbon in August of 1993. The school was designed to house six instructional pods, four kindergarten instructional areas, and a special education regional early childhood center. The program capacity for Rockburn Elementary was approximately 650 students. Spaces to serve Recreation and Parks services were incorporated into the design to allow evening and after hours use of the school. Rockburn opened with approximately 400 students. An addition to the building was completed in 2004. Another addition was completed in 2007.
