The Regis College Children's Center is a play-based center, utilizing an emergent approach to develop curriculum that is developmentally appropriate adn implemented with attention to children's individual needs and interests. All developmental areas are viewed as being equally important, and elements from these areas are weoven into the entire day. A high value is placed upon the processes in which children engage during play. Teachers are seen as facilitators for activities and interactions to ensure that children gain experiences which will assist in their intellectual development, as well as foster feelings of worth, competence, and pride.
