Run! I was fortunate enough to find another location with availability and remove my child from this facility ASAP. I had heard great reviews prior to enrolling my child there (reviews that came from employees that I knew who worked there). I removed him due to security issues with facility allowing unauthorized people into the location to visit my child, and then furthermore of how they handled the complaint. When I talked to the owner regarding this issue, I was told I could remove him if they weren’t meeting his needs. Since this school has such a pretentious reputation they are not short of kids on the waiting list, so I can only assume that is why the owners don’t care about the number of children that have been pulled since they opened. The issue was swept under the rug. The office staff is unprofessional to say the least. Teacher’s talk and having known some of them close and personally, I obtained “don’t tell anyone” knowledge that the regular daycare issues of some locations exceed those greatly at NSP.
There are employees that shake children in the bathroom as a form of punishment, out of view from the cameras; employees that are on drugs-in every department, employees that lie on their application in regard to the certifications they have, including GED, and also employees that talk openly about adult issues in front of the children such as their sex life, home lives and cursing. Due to the creek behind the school, there are also snakes found regularly on the playground. The school’s procedure regarding your child picking up a snake – not tell you; another teacher let it slip out that it happened.
My child’s experience after I initiated an inquiry with this… he came home miserable and not wanting to return to the school every day after. He overheard the teachers talking about me and the inquiry itself and relayed that information to me. He had to stay there for a few weeks while I made other arrangements. Each day he came home upset not wanting to return and would specifically call out the teachers who were “being mean” to him. In other words, you rock the boat about a valid issue and your child suffers retaliation by the staff.
The Hester owners/director are a very prominent family in the area; NSP is known to be one of the more upscale locations in Bibb county area, however; the “tight ship” they run as many holes. More so it seems than even some of the worse located daycare’s I researched.
Enroll your child at your own risk.
This is a terrible daycare. They told you to give $ 50 registration fee to put you on the waiting list, but never let you see their waiting list and never tell you they have any space, then next year you need to pay another $50 to be on waiting list. The people in front office have very bad manners. They lie to the parents and different people give different answers.
