I have used this provider for less than 6 months

Without making this review WAAAY super lengthy, let me get right down to It. This home Daycare is NOT the right place for infants. Our infant was here for 2 months before we had to find other care.... In a nutshell after 2 months of the provider caring for our child, she wanted a “parent-teacher” meeting. Lots of back and forth before she actually scheduled a sit down with us, & when we finally discussed our almost 5 month old (infant started here at 3 months), she advised that although our daughter was meeting all of her milestones, she was terminating our contract (with 1 month notice) b/c she said she could not give our infant the attention she needed, and in her “professional opinion” would benefit more from a Nanny or Au-Pair????. She mentioned to my husband a few days prior about discussing how our almost 5 MONTH OLD could be more independent ????... She even mentioned our infant being able to sit for 40 min (which many adults can’t do????)... In the weeks leading up to this, it was clear the provider seemed to be stressed/overwhelmed at times... However instead of being honest and simply saying she might have overextended herself, or bitten off more than she could chew (especially after only running her own daycare for less than 9 months), she decided to blame our daughter simply for being a baby (cries for attention after being left for long periods, wants to sit with caretaker-you know all the normal baby stuff)... She instead said she wasn’t independent enough, and special one on one care might be better.... After the shock wore off, what we COULD agree on is that if she couldn’t give our infant the attention she deserved, then she shouldn’t be there. However, blindsiding us and the lack of communication leading up to this was our major issue. Especially only giving us 1 month to find new care for an infant, when it took her 9 months to find a provider we liked to begin with.... My husband and I immediately started our search for new child care, and had to both take off of work a few days to find care ASAP since we no longer felt comfortable with this provider. I attempted to move our child from full time care to part time care with this provider a few days after our month notice, however she advised that I needed to give her 2 WEEKS NOTICE to make any changes to the original contract, so my daughter would not even be able to go part time for another 2 weeks ????... VERY confusing since she JUST said she couldn’t give our child the attention she needed, but wasn’t willing to let her come part time for the remainder of the 4 weeks....I can only my assume she still wanted our full time money ????.... At that point we decided to pull our child out immediately, and just have faith we would find something else.... Thank God we did! She started 3 days later with another provider, and the new provider has ZERO issues with our infant.... We moved her to a much more seasoned daycare provider, and clearly this provider knows how to better manage their time, and multitask with an infant. The first day with the new provider, our daughter started holding her own bottle ????...Coincidence????... maybe, but I guess it was a blessing in disguise...Again, I definitely caution against this provider. I think she was initially well intentioned, but couldn’t be honest when it became too much. I should have known something was wrong when her only point of reference when it came to children was her own child. I had to remind her on one occasion that there is no one size fits all when it comes to children.... But as a child care provider, she should already know that...
