I have used this provider for more than 6 months

Loved our experience at Passport Preschool! Excellent teachers, specially for the VPK program. The teachers genuinely care for the kids. My 5 yr old learned how to read in a short period of time and absolutely adores his teacher. Very understanding staff, I'm a single mom of two, went through some tough times and I was able to workout a flexible schedule with reasonable fees. I love this school, and will recommended to everyone.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

After a negative experience at a "prestigious" preschool, my husband and I began our search for a new one. We were blessed to find Passport! Almost 5 years later All 3 of my children have attended the school. We had even moved a considerable distance away yet make the sacrifice of a longer drive each day because we love the school so much! I've never had a single problem or complaint about passport preschool. The owners are amazing people with the biggest hearts! They actually CARE! It's CLEAN!!! Cleaner than my house for that matter ;-) It is SAFE! After the horrible things that have taken place over the past few years in Elementary schools and daycare centers, We have never felt uneasy or unsafe with our kids a passport for a single moment! The teachers are all wonderful, loving, and engaging with the children. We feel confident in saying that Mrs. Laura, the owner, hires teachers as if she was hiring them for her own children!

Our child was there for 1 month. This daycare has an owner that is more concerned with her pride of working in the Broward school system than helping her students and looking after parents needs. The owner hires teachers that have either zero or no experience at all. There is no care for cleanliness or for safety or health. One time I dropped our child off and forgot his shoes - I came back 30 minutes later and saw that his white socks were totally dark grey - I realized that the floors had not been cleaned in weeks or months - really gross. When I confronted Laura about it she told me "don't worry about it - we have someone cleaning every week". With the floors as dirty as they are, I don't want to think when the changing tables or bathrooms were last cleaned.

They are continually people at the school that I have never met before greeting me at the front door. I felt that my child was not safe and that no-one really cared. There is no formal check-in our check-out process, when you come in, you sign your name and same when you leave. But if the person there doesn't know you or verify the signature or a picture id, what's the difference.

On the health issue, we were enrolled there during a winter month, my child was allowed to play outside without a jacket (one was left in the cubby with instructions to use it during cold days) and with water on a day that the temperature was 55 degrees. He became very sick and had a high fever, when Laura was confronted with this she stated that my child could not be stopped from playing in the fountain - great answer from a 30 year educator.

When you say anything or don't like how she does things, Laura's answer rudely is "you can leave right now". With the attitude, cleanliness, lack of care and total lack of security I recommend you stay away for the safety of your child.

John G and is a disgruntled parent that was asked to remove their child from the program. He was hurting the other students in the room. They attended for over 5 months so it couldn't have that bad. The school tried their best to help him, but could no longer do so.

My experience with Passport Preschool ended today after taking a complete 180 degree turn from when we began. When my husband and I first enrolled our son, he was 3.5 months old, we were so excited and felt completely comfortable sending him here 3 days/week for 6 hours each day. The infant teachers were wonderful and truly cared and loved my son. One of the teachers was not in the classroom all of a sudden and we assumed that she was on vacation so I did not bother to say anything. However, on the third week I asked Laura, the owner/director where the teacher was and she informed me that this teacher was no longer working at the school. I could not believe that as a parent I was not notified of a major change such as this. I told Laura that I was not happy that I did not receive notification and informed her that going forward I wanted to know who was in the classroom with my son. Laura dismissed my concern and ended the conversation, which was very unprofessional & as a mother herself she should have understood my request and concern.

The next incident occurred on Tuesday, June 11th when I went to pick up my son. A young woman, whom I had never seen before, let me in without checking my ID & ensuring that I was a parent. She proceeded to grant me access to the classrooms and still did not ask for my ID. I left with my son and called Laura first thing Wednesday morning to discus what happened. I expressed my concern for the safety of my child and asked that anyone responsible for answering the door and letting parents in check everyone's ID to ensure that they should be allowed in the building. To which Laura told me that the young lady is her son's girlfriend and that I needn't be concerned because she knows everyone. I responded by telling Laura that I had never seen this girl before so how could she possibly know me?! Again Laura dismissed my true concern even though it was valid.

I also asked Laura if her son's girlfriend has had a full background check if she's working at the school to which Laura replied that hat was none of my business.

On Thursday, my husband dropped our son at school and Laura greeted him as usual. However, a few minutes later she dropped off a note with my son's teacher saying that she thought it best if we find another daycare provider. Her reason was because she tried everything to make "mom" happy and that I'm too difficult. I was floored and appalled. I simply asked for common sense measures to be in place that every parent should want and I will be calling the Broward County Licensing board as I feel Laura knowingly puts children in harms way and safety/security is not her top priority.

I hope this review is helpful and I implore you to look elsewhere for a daycare provider.

Had our child enrolled in the pre-school for 2-3 year olds for about 5 months. Firstly, there is no program at the school, Laura who is a 20 year elementary school BA has no program setup. Next, she has no documents on the school - everything is bad photocopies of state documents - don't bother asking about a price list - you get it scribbled on a sticky note at best - changes weekly. Next, the teachers do all of the arts and crafts for the kids and then report back that kids are progressing. Our son has a learning delay for speach, needing some additional attention - absolutely none given. When he started the school, he was exciteable, after five months he supposedly was biting - learned at school. Also we had witnessed several fights in the class when observing our son - one of which was a little girl and boy that went to a scratches and blood, the reaction was "well right it up". Saw several instances on the playground where our son was pushed - watching over the fence without staff noticing while my wife was inside, our then pushed back, teachers then gave us rebuke that our son was the aggressor - spoke to Laura about this - her canned phrase "I don't want to talk about it" - same as with anything else.

The teachers at the school are directed to keep parents happy - i.e. reports are written to show that everyone is happy, doing well, etc.

Oh, the best part are the snacks and meals. You provide them. My wife watched while twenty kids were fed. One table of 10 kids had their food and utencils, the other table sat for around 10 minutes with their lunch bags and no utencils - soon fights broke out and then the two teachers gave attention. Some kids were eating directly out of their thermos like animals.

So, if you want a school that is basically a highly paid babysitter that doesn't care about your kids - Passport Preschool is for you. Good Luck.
