About the Provider

The early childhood classrooms are intended to suggest a home-like environment so that the young child feels secure and comfortable. There is a restfulness and orderliness in the classroom and in the rhythms that the teacher establishes--the rhythms of the seasons, of the day, and even of the content of the curriculum. The protective rhythms are essential to the well-being of the whole child. The teachers provide the rhythm, ritual, and reverence that live within the Waldorf kindergarten. The beautiful physical environment, the rhythmic work of the day, the reverent presentation of the curriculum all work within the young child to encourage healthy growth and a respect for life and one another. Even the mood of the music which lives in the classroom draws forth the healthy imagination of the child. When we embrace children with beauty and respect, those values are reflected back, and thus we encourage a foundation for the healthy development of the whole child.
