Description: The faculty and staff are once again excited for the opportunity to partner with parents, and the community to ensure that ALL students experience academic success, and develop a sense of pride in their school. GO HORNETS! We do believe whole-heartedly in the school’s Mission Statement for the 2014-2015 school year which is “The mission of Oak Grove Elementary School is to provide a safe and caring environment in which every child can develop their full potential”, and in the theme - “Lights, Camera, Learn”. As your principal, I am committed to leading our staff in partnering with parents, business partners, and the community to ensure that academic success for Oak Grove Elementary students continues to be a top priority. As a staff, you can be assured that we are committed to ensuring that all students receive an excellent education, exposing students to the best researched-based instructional practices and high-yield instructional strategies, monitoring educational progress through formative and summative assessments, and making necessary instructional adjustments through differentiating instruction to meet the individual needs of students. We want students to become lifelong learners, proficient in utilizing technology to aid in their learning, and to become contributing members of society by recognizing and rewarding socially appropriate behavior. In addition, we want to prepare students to be college and / or career ready. We will accomplish this by incorporating all of the above and teaching grade level standards (Common Core State Standards) as supported by the state and district, and presented through the district’s Curriculum Maps for Kindergarten through fifth grade. The Pre-Kindergarten staff will follow the Arkansas Better Chance (ABC) protocols and guidelines for teaching developmentally appropriate skills for Pre-K students. The school days that follow are intended to be productive and memorable! We believe that through our combined efforts, the OGE staff working with parents, district level staff, and all stakeholders, that we will be able to provide your child with a safe, rewarding, and successful school year!
