Description: Our work with children is based on knowledge of child development. Achieving success for all children depends, among other essentials, on providing a challenging, interesting, developmentally appropriate curriculum. The Creative Curriculum provides a basic foundation for our planning while we focus on developing interest areas. Because relationships with peers and teachers influence how children feel about school, the classroom community is equally important. Research has proven that children learn best through play. We feel it is our responsibility to set the environment to maximize the potential for growth intellectually, socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. A range of instructional strategies, from child initiated to teacher directed, are applied on a daily basis.
