About the Provider
The Head Start 0-5 Program is a free federally-funded program that provides comprehensive educational services to pregnant women and children ages 0-5, including those with significant or multiple special needs, that meet the Federal Income Guidelines for enrollment. Currently the program benefits the families of 430 preschool children and 80 infants, toddlers, and pregnant women in the seven county service area.
Head Start is operated by local non-profit organizations in almost every county in the country. Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically. Children leave the Head Start program better prepared for kindergarten, excited about learning, and ready to succeed.
