Description: Hoosier Uplands has been providing Head Start services since the program's inception in 1965. Head Start is a family centered child development program designed to provide a safe, healthy environment for those who attend. Head Start provides children with activities that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally and physically. The Head Start staff recognize that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. Head Start staff welcome parental involvement in Head Start activities and will work with parents as partners in their child's educational activities. Head Start serves nutritious meals and provides medical, dental, vision, speech and hearing screenings for each child enrolled. Transportation is also available to most of the children enrolled in the Head Start Program. The Hoosier Uplands Head Start Program is funded to serve a total of 270 children in the four county service area of Lawrence, Martin, Orange and Washington Counties of Indiana.Â

We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.
