Description: Raising my children has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. My son and daughters teach me how to truly love and care daily. Watching their transformation from innocent children to intelligent adults has given me wisdom, compassion, and far more happiness than I could ever imagine.
Our schools exist today because of Jessica, Reece, and Elizabeth. Twenty years ago, there were very few childcare facilities and a general lack of progression in the field. I imagined taking my children to a magical place where they would be loved, respected and nurtured. A school with an exuberant environment of discovery. That was my vision when we opened Maryville Children's Academy in 1993.
After 13 years of operating only in Maryville, we expanded to Knoxville in 2006 with the opening of Westland Children's Academy. After three amazing years and only a growing fascination with our little students, Ebenezer Children's Academy was established in 2009. We now provide care for over 300 children daily throughout our three facilities, with the social and intellectual growth of the children our only motivation.
As we reach our 20th year as a company, there is no greater reward than seeing the amazing young lives we have helped develop.
We believe great things are possible in these first five years of your child's life. We are delighted to partner with you in providing a safe and loving learning environment, and we pledge to uphold the standards of excellence established long ago.

I worked here for less than a month, during that time I observed the assistant director drop a child’s plate of food on to the floor. She proceeded to place it back onto the plate and gave it to the child to eat. I also observed a teacher throw lunch items in the garbage because she said it was messy and didn’t want to have to clean the children. A child that was in my class liked to bite other children, it didn’t matter if they were sitting, napping, or at recess he would bite. After the co teacher informed the owner she started yelling at me, when I tried to tell her that shadowing wasn’t working and wanted to know what she needed me to do, she decided to fire me. She said that I had an attitude, I never had an attitude but I did want to know how she wanted me to handle the situation as he was biting 3-5 times a day and shadowing is hard when your co teacher won’t help and has expressed multiple times that she couldn’t stand the child and wouldn’t deal with him. It made her more angry when I said “ok” when she decided to fire me and asked me if I disliked children. I love children and she would have known this and saw how much I actually do if she was ever at the building. I also suffer from a traumatic brain injury so my ability to process is still limited to a degree since I’m still working on memory issues. I however would never recommend this facility after seeing everything that goes on.
My experience with this daycare was horrible! The lady who owns and operates this school as well as two other schools did not have our children's best interest at heart and for me that's not acceptable. We were treated inappropriately and then our child was removed from the program, while our other child was on the waiting list for 8 months and was told they would have a spot after he/she was born. At the last minute, we were told that our second child did not have a spot because of a long waiting list and because I was taking 12 weeks maternity leave and that was the reason. This situation left me with a newborn, a two year-old and no daycare at the last minute. When we asked the owner what we are supposed to do for child care her response was "you have child care, you are on maternity leave for 3 months." I want only the best for my kids and this was not the place for my family. The turnover with staff is beyond anything I have ever seen...and should be considered a red flag. One of MCA's best employee/teacher was treated so bad/unfairly and disagreed with how we were treated that she left. My advice is do your research and if you have any reservations...look elsewhere!
I am a former employee. The practices of the administration and teachers is appalling at this "school." One of the "teachers" actually said she pats the two-year-olds on the back hard at nap time to scare them so they don't get up. The administration is obviously more interested in making money because they consistently accepted students into classrooms that were already full. If a complaint is brought to them by staff, it is dismissed and the staff member is accused of causing problems in the "educational environment." I couldn't be paid enough to place my children into the care of this "school."
