Description: The building on the corner of 3200 South Main Street in Nibley was constructed in 1940 by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was occupied for several decades as the only ward building in Nibley. As other church buildings went up, the building became vacant and turned into a place of business by Everton's Publishing. It was another 20 years before the Little Wonders vision began to evolve.
In the early spring of 2005, Michael and Vicki Arambel, together with their daughter Sheri Wood, began making plans to start a family business. With Sheri's degree in education and the Arambels' history with successful businesses, a small preschool center was their dream. Meanwhile the building in Nibley was unoccupied, and to almost anyone, it was a run down, depressing structure with little potential. Mike Arambel, who is a very visionary man, walked in the doors and saw a great place for kids.
In June of the same year, the building was purchased, and the renovation began. After only two months of drastic structural and electrical updates and a lot of paint, the upper level of the building was ready to open as a small preschool.
At our first open house in August, Little Wonders obtained its first 32 clients as well as several requests for full-time child care. The renovation continued as the north basement wing was renovated to meet this request. The business began to grow rapidly until the entire building was occupied, including a two-level center for infants and toddlers reconstructed from the building's warehouse. Little Wonders currently holds the record in Utah for the childcare center with the most rooms, all with beautiful and colorful murals painted on the walls, and one with a large indoor play structure.
Little Wonders is widely known as a state-licensed preschool and childcare center with an excellent program. We offer a safe and fun place for children to spend their day, to make friends, play, and build a solid educational foundation. We also offer a before and after school program as well as transportation for children who attend elementary schools in our area.
Over the years, we have developed an excellent reputation within our community as our program has evolved. Little Wonders is also recognized by the State of Utah Bureau of Child Care Licensing as a "Wild Card" which means we have a well-above average rate of compliance with the state rules and regulations. Clearly Little Wonders is a valuable asset to the community.
