My two children have attended this daycare from the time they were 6 weeks until it was time for pre-k. Honestly i cannot relate to the reviews that were made previously. Our experience at this daycare has been quite excellent to say the least (minus one or two incidents). But what can i say kids will be kids. I also had access to the daycares cameras and eveytime i would view it the teachers were being very attentive to the children.
If I could give this daycare zero I would. I am waiting months after taking my child out before writing a review because I wanted to make sure I wasn’t over reacting. But now having him in a new daycare, I can see the difference it makes! It sucks we had to go through such a horrible experience to find another daycare that is so amazing! My child went to lpbw for about 6 weeks. First let’s start off by saying my niece went there when it first opened and aside from one incident we thought they were wonderful, definitely not the case five years later. It started at registration, when I was told in June, we would be in in September. I called in October and I was told no December, then when I called in November, a week before I was to start back work, I was told March. Luckily I had someone to watch him. He started in September and we had problems from the beginning. He got bit the first time on his third day...(I said okay I know this happens, wasn’t angry). I would watch the cameras there were rarely, I mean rarely 2 people in the room for 10 children. Most of the time it was one teacher( the only one we even remotely liked, I felt she did try). I ended up keeping my cameras up ALL DAY AT work because he was bitten two more times by the end of the second week. Not to mention there was a span of 10 min during open play where there were 10 one year olds left completely alone in the room. One child was on top of my child. I called the owner the first time and she said she would take care of it. It was better for about a week. He was still getting bit. They were always “short staffed.” One little girl (who I’m pretty sure is related to the owner, who I saw bite 6 times in two days, and bit my son 2 times at once not to mention 7/9 times he was bit in 6weeks!!! there were times he would be in a highchair for extended amounts of time, one time for 2.5 hours. I was told this was for him to “cope” to the environment. There were numerous other times there would be 8-10 min spans there would be no teachers in the room. I called the owner the 2 & 3 time about the biting, she said it was because they were one-two year olds and you can’t reprimand them. When I asked about her biting policy she said no more than 3 times in eight months. But the child who bites and the child that gets bitten gets a “boo boo” report sent home. My child who is normally very outgoing would play by himself because he was terrified. He screamed and cried when he was dropped off and just never acted himself. The last week he was there he was bit two more times by the same girl on Wednesday, and then on Friday when it happened I went up to talk to the owner in person because when I went to look at the camera to see, i ironically didn’t have access. Mind you my second time taking off work early to deal with this. She refused to come talk to me, I told her by phone I was taking him out and she pretty much lied and said it wasn’t the same kid (however it really didn’t matter who it was at this point. There is no reason a child should be bitten this much in six weeks or at all!). She then stated that, “it wasn’t the same little girl, and that she hates for an eight year relationship to end like this.” Apparently not because she didn’t care about my child being bit or hit or being left alone. Not to mention, I know exactly who it was who bit him! She then had the audacity to tell me she “requires a two week notice of taking your child out so I would have to pay.” Umm NO! And once I called about another child being hurt while no one was in the room. Another time a teacher was on her cell phone and was using her feet to keep a child away from my son. This whole experience was absolutely heartbreaking for me and my family. I knew the owner for eight years and forced this daycare on my husband, I am not one to write bad reviews or have confrontations, but My baby was miserable. The good reviews on here are older clients, the owners husband and a teacher’s husband and the a teacher there. I see now what a great daycare is, and I highly recommend not choosing this one. I can promise you, atleast most of everything said here is true from first hand experience.
If I could I would not give it a star at all...my grandson was going to this daycare and after 6 weeks we had to take him out. He was bitten 9 times in 6 weeks and the director/owner did NOTHING about it. We had the ability to go back and watch the camera and 7 out of 9 times it was the same kid, so either it was a friend or family member or she just didn't care, the money was more important. On more than one occasion the 1-2 year olds (creepers) were left completely alone in the classroom, on one occasion it was for 10 minutes. The toddlers nap from 11:45-3:00 which they don't sleep that long but they are made to stay in their crib that long. If you don't believe me...watch your camera if you have access, if you don't have access you should get it. I am not sure what happened to this daycare, but when it first opened our granddaughter was enrolled there from 1 yr until she was 5. We though it was awesome she loved it... Now I get disgusted every time I have to drive by it. It's been a month since his parents have taken our grandson out of this daycare and I am just as angry now as I was on his last day.
Professional and clean environment. I couldn't pick a better place for my children to attend. All employees are caring and make you feel comfortable leaving your love ones.
My child attended this daycare for 3 1/2 years and I was always pleased with the connection most of the staff had with her. As an infant, the one time my child got a rash the owner/staff were extremely helpful to make sure it healed quickly. I appreciated that there were both indoor and outdoor activities for her. There is a lot of transparency in how this center operates. There were many arts and crafts that came home with my child so it's clear what was being done to teach her. A bill came home every week and even a monthly statement that I checked against my own records and took issue with only one item (in 3+ years?). During summer months, the owner sets up specially-planned, age-appropriate events for the entire summer. Oftentimes, the owner set up special events for holidays that the kids absolutely loved! There are children feom diverse backgrounds. The hours of operation are fantastic...thank you! Need I say more? I agree with an earlier comment that children who cry and fuss when parents leave is not about this center it's about the parent not dealing well with their child's separation anxiety (I may have been one of them); the staff handled it well. While no place is perfect for every child this is as close as you can get. Strong work Mrs. Owner and family! (No, I don't have have a personal relationship with any of the owners or staff.)
We are very pleased with the care our daughter has received from LPBW Academy. Our daughter doesn't cry when we leave her. I have witnessed other children screaming and crying when they are left but I think it has little to do with poor care received by the daycare workers and more about being left by their parents. Some children have trouble adjusting and that's on parents. I have also witnessed the daycare workers go above and beyond to calm these children down. How to pay is clearly outlined in the parent handbook and parents are reminded again in monthly newsletters. I have received past due notices and they aren't nasty. Payment at this daycare, like other daycares, is due on Monday morning. My daughter has been attending LPBW for three years. She is well-adjusted and wise beyond her age thanks to the quality care she receives from LPBW.
Did not have a pleasant experience with LPBWA. I would not recommend this day care to anyone. My child was not properly cared for and the teacher wouldn't even look at me or speak to me when I picked my child up in the afternoons. I used their service to watch my child's classroom via their cameras and on more than one occasion I was able to watch my child sit alone against a wall for 10-15 minutes at a time while no teacher interacted with her.
When registering my child, I was lead to believe this daycare was more of a preschool than just a daycare. I was lead to believe there would be educational activities done every day which would be brought home to share with the parents. The director seemed very interested and organized. However, after my child started, I was never informed as to how to pay our bill. I asked after my child had been attending for over two weeks at which point I was informed. Then, I started getting nasty grams saying I owed more than I did. My child cried every time I left him there. He hardly ever brought anything home, and unless I asked, I was never informed about how he was doing. The people seemed nice enough, but it did not meet my expectations.
The center is amazing and has the greatest family atmosphere, the workers there are great. the owner is the best!!! couldnt ask for a better place to go. Would recomend to any and everyone!!!
