I have used this provider for more than 6 months

Horrible daycare. Parents stay away. My child was in this daycare for nearly two years. I was incredibly involved and supportive even cooking food for the children after I found out the owner was feeding them frozen food. Then the owner decided to use her own chap stick while she was having an active cold sore on my child’s chapped lips causing them to contract it. Instead of being apologetic she was nasty and rude. The pediatrician ended up contacting cps and she received over 10 violations. We vetted this place carefully but clearly there was a big change from when we initially began coming here. The owner does not understand how this is transmitted and the potential dangers it causes for a child.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I enrolled my son at this daycare after a very lengthy search for the perfect daycare. This one seemed to check all the boxes, however appearances aren't always what they seem. Initially the owner told us the children would be fed only organic foods, languages were taught, yoga was done daily, etc. I kept a very close eye on the food chart that was sent home daily and noted the children ate tons of fruit at one time. I thought this was nice as it is a bit of work to put this together. When I showed up to pick up my son early (kids were still eating dinner) I note that the large variety of fruit was actually canned fruit in syrup! I began to inquire more about the foods the kids were fed and the owner herself told me about the FROZEN lasagna, meatballs etc that they are fed. I am not bashing frozen food, however the cost of food here is $100 per week so why are they eating frozen food and canned fruit? Where is this money going, because no toddler I have ever met can eat $100 worth of food Monday to Friday, especially when it is the cheapest food you can buy. Other issues I have is the sanitation. The staff spends hours cleaning the owners home, however very little time is spent cleaning the children. One of the staff members told me about how they "wipe the kids hands with baby wipes instead of washing them because it saves time". Can you imagine having your toddler go the entire day without washing their hands? The bathroom is NEVER sanitized. I noted multiple children using the potty without any attempt to sanitize it in between. I saw newborns and toddlers (who had just come in covered in sand) changed on the same table without and cleaning in between. I noted staff changing kids wearing no gloves and not washing their hands in between. I even overheard a staff member using the restroom and the sink was not run while she was in there!!! SO they are not even washing their own hands after using the bathroom. When I came to pick up my son I noted a baby being fed with a bottle that had another babys name on it! Anytime I brought up any concerns to the owner she immediately became defensive and would shut the conversation down. I have several friends who have known people who have used this daycare in the past and they all agreed it has gone downhill tremendously. Somewhere along the way the concern for children's safety and well being was replaced by the love for the almighty dollar. Keep your child safe and don't bring them here.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

My child was in this daycare for a few months. Initially when we interviewed it seemed like a dream come true. The owner tells you everything you want to hear: kids eat healthy home cooked organic food, do yoga, learn languages etc. as we had bad experiences at large centers, a home daycare seemed like a much better and safer choice. Not the case as we learned. Initially, everything seemed to be going well, my child seemed happy and things seemed to be close to what was promised. Then all the illness began. Flu followed by strep followed by ear infections x 3 followed by stomach bug, all in the span of 3 months. Now I know kids get sick easier in daycares, but my little one is no stranger to germs as I mentioned we were in a much larger facility prior to this with WAY less sickness. I made friendly with some of the staff and began picking my child up at various times trying to hang around a bit each time. I was shocked at what I saw and heard. Kids don’t wash their hands at all! Not even once per day, they are cleaned with baby wipes! Can you imagine cleaning toddlers hands with baby wipes and considering them sanitized?!? I saw employees changing children as well with no gloves and no hand washing in between, going right from a toddler to a 8 week old infant. Kids crawling on the floor where EVERYONE is walking with outside shoes! One morning I came early and saw a random man coming out of the house, I tried to inquire about who he was and the owner lost it on me. In the few months my child was there, staff changed several times, no effort made to tell parents or introduce us. And anytime I inquired I’d get a short response. Food was another issue, at $100 per week for a 28 pound toddler you would imagine the best food was being served. Nope not here, everything is frozen! Frozen lasagne, frozen meatballs etc not even fresh fruit! Canned fruit full of syrup. Constant Oreos and candy being served. To be honest i think the focus is on making money and not good childcare at all. The owner seems interested only in kicking you out of the house so she can attend various things for her son. There were several occasions when I came to drop off or pick up my child and the owner wouldn’t be here, I’d hear she took her kid camping or for day trips to various places without informing the parents and leaving the staff short handed. The staff is forced to clean the owners house top to bottom while the children are left outside (even when it is too cold by law to have them out there) or in front of the tv for hours (verified by my child who is older and very with it). My other concern is record keeping, I was never asked for updated vaccine records etc If is bring them I’d get a blank stare. Who knows how many of the children and staff for that matter are even up to date on vaccines. My overall Recommendations are avoid this place at all costs. It is disorganized, dangerous, dirty and overpriced.

I am the owner

Sinead (clearly not ur real name!) I am the owner and operator of Little Ones Early Learning Daycare and would like to address ur review on my Daycare. You, whomever you are have never set foot in my Daycare, nor had your child enrolled in my daycare, nor had any conversation with me either irate or otherwise. That said, I find it hard to believe that if this incident actually did happen, you as a mother would not have reported me to NYSOCFS for child neglect, which is what any mother would have done!Clearly you have little respect for your child if you are not willing to stand up for his rights. To slander myself and my business in such a way is both uncalled for and untrue..

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

At first I was happy because of what they said on how they kept my son simulated during the day, but the more I watched on the 'nanny camera' I noticed several times my son was left unattended in the high chair for close to a hour while I watched them clean the daycare, they spend more time caring about how clean the daycare is then actually teaching and playing with my son, when I addressed this with the owner, she responded in a irate manner, very unprofessional. I suggest keeping your eyes looking at the camera to determine if it's the right daycare for you. Sadly it wasn't, I wanted my son to learn and excel not be sat unattended while the place is under going a deep clean by the workers.
