Concerns Apr 29, 2021

I would not recommend this center , the teachers are caring but the management and board are very unprofessional, and show too much favoritism , the director Melissa Logan is horrible she lies and manipulates the staff and parents , I have seen violations get covered up . The director makes comments like she has the DHS person in her pocket as well as the board and staff that is concerning to say the least I am currently looking for other work ASAP

I worked there for enough time to see the true aspects of the leadership to know how the director, Melissa truly was. She wants to act like she is going to be a wonderful boss that you can trust. She will call you nicknames to make you feel welcomed but it will be for how own benefit. She likes you as long as you follow her around like a little puppy doing whatever she wants. As soon as you start questioning how the kids are being treated and questioning the ways they handle employee concerns and needs then you don’t even get acknowledged. She has fired multiple people over phone call or text which is completely unprofessional. She makes sure to talk bad about every family that comes in there. If you’re on the board you get special treatment or if you donate money you get special treatment. Classrooms aren’t provided with the correct supplies. She is more worried about her personal life than she is about the parents and children she is supposed to be. If you were her favorite you got special things bought for your classroom. But if you aren’t her favorite and you worry more about the children than pleasing her then you get 0 teachers when you need help and you don’t get anything for your classroom. Many many of the teachers here feel this way but we have all been too scared to lose our jobs. If you do one thing wrong then you suddenly are on their watch list for who to fire next. Another thing this establishment does is hire people who have 0 experience at higher rates than the actual workers who have went to college and have experience. They tell you when you get hired if you have classes during college they’ll give you a raise and there also raises throughout your employment. Which is very untrue. Over all the problem with this establishment is the drama within the director. She is a pitiful excuse for a person and I would not recommend this day care to anyone. There’s certain situations that have happened that she hides to keep the center open. She tells certain people things about other parents that are very inappropriate. Overall do not recommend.

Lacking Professionalism Oct 23, 2020
I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I feel bad grouping the experience with the teachers, and the experience with the director. Every teacher I came in contact with was absolutely fantastic! Melissa (The director) came into her role and wanted gain a friendship with all the parents. She divulged information about actions of some parents with me that was inappropriate. She would talk to you if she liked you and you didn’t question things that were being done at the center and with your kids. As soon as you started to ask questions about why things were being done a certain way, you got ignored. The teachers are great but they aren’t happy and a lot of teachers and families are leaving due to poor leadership. There is no open conversation with the director, it is always she is right and your comments/questions are a waste of time. A person in a director role should have more training in professionalism!
