Although we have had some sweet teachers who make a fun environment for my kids, the director or whoever it is in charge has disappointed myself and some other parents. In case y’all didn’t know, there was a teacher who has COVID at the school. She continued on until receiving the positive result even though she was ill. I found out about her results through her Facebook post I was shown Sunday, but when I asked the school about it yesterday they said they didn’t know of any teacher having it or having had it. Today when I asked about precautions they’ve taken or if there have been any other cases, the director cut me off to tell me a bulletin board behind me had any answer I was looking for and that’s where I can find the information. It did not have the answers I was looking for, and clearly it had not been there long since yesterday an employee still didn’t know about the case or chose not to disclose the information. Not sure. The teachers do not wear their masks properly nor at all times, therefore I was clearly concerned. Had I known, I would have kept my kids out of daycare until my mother in law, who is autoimmune compromised, had gone back home from her visit. Instead she is now sick and awaiting results from her test.
The daycare expects you to keep your children home if they are ill, yet has teachers working until a positive results for COVID is given. If anyone is ill, they should not be at the school. The daycare may make a fun environment for the children, but they do terrible at informing the parents of injuries and COVID cases.
I have been lied to, bullied, and they have tried kicking us out (Thank God we already chose to leave and had childcare set up since they don't care about their children or the parents). They have tried lying about my actions, about how I talk to them, and how I broke confidentiality, although their own teacher was the one who disclosed her COVID status to the public. Lying seems to be how the management handles issues that arise.
I have worked with Ms. Sharon Golden the new owner in the past and I can tell you that she is passionate about making her center the best it can be. Her love of children and Gift of Joy make her a delight to work with.
She has the background knowledge of the NAEYC Accredatation Process which sets centers apart from there competition. I know she will always strive for perfection while achieving excellence in making Little Heros Academy a Top Notch Program.
When I began working at this daycare center, it was on a humongous downward spiral. The owner was terrible! She did not care about the parents, the children and most definitely not the staff. Overall, it was a terrible environment to be in. However, since our new owners have taken over, I would recommend this center to absolutely anyone...something I never would have done before. The classrooms have quality teachers instead of just warm bodies and the ration of students to teachers is much smaller which means we are fully capable to give each child a great learning environment daily. Whatever you have heard about Little Heroes Academy....please disregard and give us a shot. We will no longer let you down! That I can promise.
The tour they take you on was great, everyone was very friendly and my son loved the outdoor play area. Unfortunately, it did not take me long to realize the care was not what I expected and paid good money for. Thankfully, I found a new place for my son and could not be happier.
I have been with them for 5 years now. I have had and currently have 2 children there. I have been to many daycares and this one it a the top of my list. The other comments suggested a hight turnover rate. That is not true. There are many workers that have been there since I have had my first child there. My boys have learned a lot. My first child went through the pre-K program and did very well when he started school. This place is clean and most of the employees have children themselves. I would recommend this place.
