The owner of this daycare is more of an issue than anything. She is incredibly passive aggressive and reactive to everything without reason. My child has had a total of 18 injuries while in their care since January. Of these 18 most were either a response of “we don’t know what happened” or she would not furnish an incident report even when asked. After 9 days in daycare and 7 injuries, I began to get very concerned. I asked for footage of what took place and she immediately got combative. She was able to calm down and understand where I was coming from, so I remained calm as well. The last injury, my child tooth got chipped and his gums were split. I got 3 different stories that did not add up, so again, I calmly asked that we got footage and talked the next day. This resulted in a call to me that my child was suspended from daycare as a “proactive measure” and she would be contacting DHS with the footage. She still has not and will not provide footage of what actually happened to him. This sent me through the roof because I had no idea what “contacting DHS FOR PROACTIVE MEASURES” meant. It seemed threatening to us and to everyone who has heard the recorded conversation. I would sincerely stray away from this daycare at all cost. Darneice seemed very nice in the beginning, but with her attitude and the cost, it is just not worth the frustration. Every parent should have the right to question what happens to their kid especially when they are supposedly attended to. It shouldn’t be that your kid is expelled for asking for footage of what happened when the stories don’t add up! Below is the message that I sent to get more information regarding what happened. There was nothing in this that should warrant suspension of a kid. Chipped tooth warrants information.
