Description: Hello! My name is Laura and I am a 34 years old. I own and operate a small family child care business from my home, located just off of Bellevue St, near Biebels Catering in Bellevue/ E. Green Bay, WI. I currently have openings available to provide care for children ages 6 weeks-10 years old. A little about me... I have a total of 22 years experience caring for children of all ages, including multiples. I have completed all of the child care courses, small business courses, and child care training classes that are required by the State of Wisconsin's Department of Children and Families. Each child I provide care for receives the individualized love and care they deserve. I always strive to provide the children in my care with the 4 main domains of learning and development: cognitive, emotional, physical, and social. I follow a daily schedule, and the children have lots of fun learning by playing with toys, reading books, art, listening and dancing to music, and exploring the outdoors. The children and I also enjoy taking trips out and about. We visit the library, parks, playgrounds, the Wildlife Sanctuary, NEW Zoo and many other fun places. :) I will provide you're child with breakfast, as well as a PM snack. If your child is in care during the lunch hour I would ask you to provide your child's lunch. Here is some additional information for you... *Age Range: 6 weeks-10 years. *Tuition: -- Full-Time Care (25-40hrs/wk): - Child under 2 years old= $160/wk - Child 2-10 years old= $145/wk -- Part-Time Care (less than 25hrs/wk): - Child under 2 years old= $140/wk - Child 2-10 years old= $125/wk -- Before & After School Care (Full-time school age children only, during the school year, 3 hrs/day max) = $115/wk. *Days of Operation: Monday-Friday *Hours of Operation: 7:00am-4:30pm (Year-Round) *Languages Supported: English, Spanish *Type of Care: Full-Time care, Part-Time care, Before & After School care, Drop-In care *Transportation: Field Trips, To/From School. I own a safe & reliable 8 passenger SUV that is equipped with a daycare alarm, as required in the State of Wisconsin's Department of Children and Families. Any vehicle used to transport children that has seating for 6 or more MUST have this special alarm in place in order to legally transport children in care in the State of Wisconsin. Our 3 month old son was in Laura's care for 6.5 weeks. When we found this care provider we were actually excited about the long detailed contract because we felt that it would help to protect us as well, since we had a bad experience with our last provider and reliability.
Laura's contract states that no unpaid vacation time is to be given to parents prior to the child being in her care for 5 months... when we hired her we discussed a vacation we had planned within a month of starting care with her, and that we would be willing to comprise and pay 1/2 the week. She was in agreement at that time. The week before the vacation she asked for more money, which we agreed to. Later that week we decided to pull our child from daycare and utilize family and adjust our work schedules in order to be able to spend more time with our son. At that time we were not pulling him because of his care. We were actually very satisfied with the care he was receiving. The next week that our son was at daycare, Monday and Tuesday went as usual. Wednesday when I went to drop him off, Laura was not home. I had not received ANY communication from her since Tuesday night when I picked him up. Several text messages were sent, and phone calls made. We asked her to please let us know if everything was ok... but got no response all day! The following day we again called twice, and left 2 messages and got no response. Laura requires families to pre-pay so we had paid for the whole week and she only provided care for 2 days. We left a letter asking for an explanation, and when we finally got a response 36 hours after the first no call, no show, she was very defensive and never even apologized for leaving us high and dry with no explanation.
Again we never had issues with how she cared for our son, but there is a serious lack or respect and business sense with this provider. We have never received a refund for the services not provided. We paid for her 3 days of vacation and 1 paid holiday, all within the first month of employment, but were told by her that we took advantage of her!
Be cautious! It's all about the money.
I had pretty much a horrible experience with this childcare provider as well. Beware of her contract. I'd advise you alter the contract if I were you. I was very unsatisfied with her lack of communication and also reliability. Had my daughter there for a short period and she had taken 2 vacation days and called in sick twice too. The second time saying she would need up to a week to recover from pink eye. BEWARE!
We had our son, who at the time was 4 months, with Laura and "Little Angles" for 6 weeks - 1 day a week. At first things were good, but then we got calls from Laura saying he is crying all day long (which he never did for us) and was ruining the other kids sleep and nap times.
She informed us that his crying stressed her out to the point where she had to just put him in a Pack-n-Play and leave him cry for 10 to 15 minutes.
Laura finally called and with her in tears and our son screaming in the background told us she was terminating our contract to watch him. We had two weeks to find a replacement - which at that point, we were doing already based on how unhappy he was at her care.
There was a two week grace period where if we found separate care and did not need Little Angels, we would not be charged. We made arrangement for those two weeks, because we did not want to bring our son back to her.
HOWEVER - we paid for one of the weeks before she terminated the contract, and Laura flat out refused to refund our money. She said she doesn't give refunds, even though her contract stated we would not be charged and her termination notice said she wouldn't charge for the days.
Then, she decided she would just quit talking to us after we asked for the refund. She didn't even answer the door when my wife went to pick up our sons stuff. She simply left it outside her doorstep and didn’t come to the door.
I left 3 or 4 voicemails and over 6 emails trying to find out why she wouldn't refund us, and got ZERO response from her. She wouldn't pick up her phone, she wouldn't email back. This went on for several weeks.
Long story short - look for a different provider. Don't get put into the same trap we did. The care my son got was questionable and Laura is not willing to live by the huge contract that SHE MAKES YOU SIGN.
Save yourself the trouble - go elsewhere!
