Our daughter was bitten and scratched on several occasions (more than 5) in a matter of weeks by an aggressive child at this daycare. They reported a few incidents to us and we had to report a few to them as well that were not observed by the staff. She was one of several children that were attacked by this child according to staff. They refused to terminate the child's enrollment and the owner took offense to the fact that we did not find that acceptable. The owner acted very unprofessionally and threatened me by saying that she would get her husband to "handle me". She has no business running a daycare. We were told not to put our child here but chose to anyways due to the low price. That was a HUGE mistake. Please take our advice and pay a few extra dollars to have your child taken care of by a facility that responds to violence in an appropriate and professional manner. The aggressive child was suspended for a half day but two other incidents happened after that and were more severe.
Today was the last straw in a string of incidents, including: wet, soaked diapers when we picked her up on several occasions, classrooms over child to teacher ratio, classrooms that smelled like old urine, no reinforcement with potty training (she was already wearing panties at her other daycare and not having accidents all day).
We never knew who her teacher was. They had different staff in there daily. It wasn't until the last couple of weeks that we saw the same teacher consistently.
The only reason we enrolled her at this facility was because our other daycare closed down due to budget issues and it was right down the street. Big mistake. You get what you pay for. We were already in the process of moving my daughter to a different child care center so it was only a matter of days until we were no longer taking her there.
We feel saddened that we believed in this facility to handle the multiple attacks in a responsible manner and they chose to sit back and do nothing until forced. My daughter had to suffer and I hate to know that.
While biting may be "common", it still needs to be addressed in a timely and responsible manner. Only after we made it an issue was it dealt with. There were no plans to remove the child from this facility until we pushed for it. How many more children needed to be bitten more than 3 times for something to happen?
The owner could not accept the fact that she couldn't make the correct decision with the other child and only after I asked for an apology for her calling me "rude" and threatening to have her husband "handle me" did she ask for my child to be withdrawn, not me. I was not enrolled there. It's sad that she would punish my child and act in a hostile manner in front of her.
I work here and I love the children... all the employees really love your children and try to provide a caring and loving enviroment for the children... but the directing staff is very unorganized and has a hard time getting things done on time... If I had children I wouldn't initially bring my kids here just by looks... but if you stop look really well and talk to the teachers you'lll love the place.. the kids there are kind and inquisitive and the teachers care about your kids growing and learning :)
