I have used this provider for more than 6 months

*** UPDATE**** The owner had another person contact me who knew nothing of what I speaking of. I informed Amber this was the second time my daughter had gotten lice and wanted a refund of the month of July that I paid upfront. UPFRONT. $976.50. Amber stated she would inform the owner and call me back. She did and kindly let me know the owner would not refund us. Unacceptable!
Policy or not how do you take someone’s money for services not rendered? my My child went 3 days and the additional 2 the school was closed for 4th of July. That’s $195.30 per day!!!
Especially, since this situation was caused by your school not taking measures seriously, clearing up the lice the first time, and INFORMING THE PARENTS.

My daughter is no longer attending of Kids R Kids as of Monday July 8th due to contracting lice for the second time. In both instances the school didn’t not inform parents of the issue.

Monday I contacted the school and spoke to Cecilia, she assured me I would be reimbursed and would also contact me when this was completed. It is now Thursday and has not heard back from her. When I called today I was informed a reimbursement would not be given but instead a credit would be issued for holidays or my daughter could attend Kids R Kids for the remainder of the month. This is not acceptable, please reimburse my credit card for the month of July. We are asking for the tuition to be reimbursed only, not the time and money we spent getting rid of lice both times not to mention the embarrassment of having to take her to the doctor twice. My husband and I cannot send her back when this is clearly an ongoing issue.

My daughter has attended Kids R Kids since she was six weeks old and has never had an issue on either our side or the schools.

Over the 5 years my daughter had attended we have invested well over $50 thousand in tuition not because we can but because our daughter was (up until this incident) we’ll taken care of and loved going.

I have emailed the accounting department 3 times with no response. One would think they would have a little more empathy then not responding at all.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

The owner and regional director are more concerned about the bottom line than child safety. When inquiries were made concerning a child kicking our son in the face and the reason the site had no known record of the incident, the director (with 25 years of experience) stated that her priority was the safety of the business. She lied and refused to view video because of "lack of time" and later stated "it didn't happen at her center," without interviewing the teacher on duty or looking at footage. Less than a week later our child got beat (kicked multiple times all over his shoulder, chest and back) again by the same kid. Their response "it didn't really hurt because he didn't cry." For a center whose motto is "hugs first, teach later," and that touts on their franchise website:

"Our teachers go beyond the call of other childcare providers, as well, with experience and understanding unparalleled in childcare in San Antonio, TX. Our teachers:
"Hug First, Then Teach"; Kids 'R' Kids knows the learning process is optimized when a child trusts the one who teaches her, Get to know each child and their family individually, Participate in on-going professional development training, Are certified in Infant, Child and Adult CPR and First Aid, Are dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean and loving environment,"

they did not seem too concerned about child safety. When asked what would be done to ensure safety, the director stated basically that she could not prioritize child safety nor could she make promises. Rather than attempting to correct their lack of supervision or address issues of child safety, they asked their 4 year old victim to withdraw. The assistant director stated that according to the owner "due to the fact that you have a discounted rate...you are not allowed to return." Apparently customers who pay early and/or enroll with a promotional fee means that the center does not have to provide the quality care as boasted on the website. Parents if you do consider enrolling your kids in this center or others owned and run by the same family inquire about their licensing issues, find out what they prioritize and be vigilant. No child should be abused, bullied or neglected.
