What the facility is trying to do and provide the community with is good. But they have a lot of improving that needs to be done. I personally have had to report abuse by the workers toward the students. There are two teachers and one worker I can honestly say care for the kids and try their best on the daily. But still the facility is unorganized and chaotic. The facility really needs a good cleaning and T.L.C, including weeding out lazy unqualified workers. When workers are approached with a question or concern instead of answering said question or addressing the concern the workers complain and voice their opinions or my all time favorite, "Ummmmm like I don'ts knows." At all times of the day you can hear workers speaking badly about other works/parents/students. They yell at the students or speak to them in such an ignorant form. Confidential information (S.S numbers, medical records, note on conversations, etc...) is out in plain view for all to see, especially in the F.A.S office. I definitely would not call this place a learning center are even a day care facility. It is merely a holding center. They will some what watch your child while you are doing ________.
This is an excellent Head Start School with wonderful staff. The teachers have degrees and are very knowledgeable. The whole center from the director on down are great people. My children have really benefited from this school and have gone on to Lufkin ISD as gifted.
They are not organized at all. I know they are busy but when your child is the second one in the class and the act as though they are swamped already, they are complaining every time you come about they dont know whats going on. It's time for a another profession or its time to clean house from top to bottom.
