Description: The Lee Ann Britain Infant Development Center (Britain IDC) is an important outreach program of Shawnee Mission Health, touching the lives of more than 4,000 children with special needs since 1972. Dedicated to serving children with special needs from birth to six years of age, IDC provides a unique program that involves family and friends in the process of therapeutic treatment and education. Individualized programs are shaped for each child and family by a team of physical, occupational, and music therapists, speech language pathologists, early childhood special education teachers, behavior analysts, social workers, and paraprofessionals.
