My daughter was in this daycare for almost 9 months, I still think back, and I don't know how I allowed myself to keep her there for that long. She started in Infants room, teachers were great, she will get sick every 2 weeks or so, which I knew this will happen, this was the first time being exposed to viruses and germs from a school. Things took a turn when she was transferred to Toddlers, since day 1 and for 3 LOOOOONG months she was sick, we didn't get a break for that period of time. The classroom smelled like B.O., never, ever smelled like they cleaned or sanitized, we were in Wintertime and with many viruses around, and still never did anything to keep it clean. My daughter would come home with dirty clothes like if she mopped the classroom, buggies and traces of her meals all over her face, simply disgusting. It was sad seeing all the kids just not being happy in that place. My daughter was sad all the time, I noticed many changes in her behavior, I addressed all my concerns to the Director, and she reassured me she will talk to the teachers, obviously nothing happened. The teachers looked overwhelmed with the kids, just like they didn't know what they were doing.
They will take the kids out to play in temperatures of 40F, I complained about that, I told them I didn't want my daughter out in the cold, that she was sick all the time, and that didn't help, they were not happy and said that if they couldn't find a classroom where to leave her, while they were out, she will have to go, I said NO! if you can't find a classroom call me and I will stay there until they come back.
After my daughter being sick every week, I started watching the cameras in the room and I started noticing more things, they would throw food to the kids plates, like if they were animals, THEY ARE LITTLE HUMANS that are learning everything they see (I also complained about it) they didn't do anything because they kept doing it, they will wipe their face with the same wipe cloth they cleaned the floor and the tables, ( and we wondered why she was sick all the time, now we had the answer) and I saw a few times my daughter eating chalk, and they never even pay any attention.
This place it's a nightmare! they don't care about the kids; they care about the money and that's it.
Our daughter was in the care of this facility for 8 months too long! She was switched from classroom to classroom without any notification so I would show up to drop her off and not know where her cubby or belongings were, let alone have time to meet her new teacher OR get info on changes of tuition rates. SEVERAL times I was told my account would be adjusted due to not needing to attend or being sick (I was told if I called in the morning to let them know my child wouldn't be there I would be credited 1/2 the day, NOT!). There is NO communication whatsoever and when I would bring my issues to the director I would get the run around. From the time we started to the time we pulled our child from this facility they had changed all but one teacher, IN 8 MONTHS! The replacements were young and seemed unable to handle the stresses of the classroom. I really felt like they would hire anyone who could pass the background check, EEK! Every time I picked up or dropped off I witnessed teachers yelling at children to the point of them crying (EVERY TIME) then the teachers would gossip amongst themselves (loud enough for the child/ other children to hear). From a parent's, and HUMAN, perspective this was very ridiculing and dehumanizing. My child would come home saying they were mean to her and would throw tantrums upon drop off, VERY out of character for my child. After these behaviors surfaced we decided to pull her from the center. I work with children and can say there would NEVER be a time that anyone should speak to children the way I witnessed these teachers speak to them. PARENT'S BEWARE!
