About the Provider
CFS Head Start on Kaua‘i provides free preschool to 3 and 4 year old children whose families meet income guidelines. A comprehensive program of educational, health and social services help the child and parents be prepared for school. The program is offered at eight centers around the island.
Head Start strives to empower families to become self-sufficient. Head Start families are assigned a Family Advocate to assist them in reaching family goals.
Parents are the key to success in Head Start. As members of the Parent Committees and Head Start Policy Council, parents help decide how the program is operated. Parents are invited to volunteer in all phases of the Head Start program at any time.
