My daughter and I visited this daycare a little over 2 years ago. We were told the cameras would be fixed the following week, so my grandson started just before his 2nd birthday. Up until about 4 months ago he loved going there. This summer, he was exposed to poison ivy twice. When told about it the employees said that one of the husbands had looked for it and didn’t find any. About 3 months ago my grandson started saying some strange things. He also started crying when being taken to “school”. He asked us “Are you snitching on your friends?”. He started coming home with undocumented bite marks. When asked what happened he said “W - - - - bit me”. When asked if he told his teacher he would give a funny look and walk away. He told his momma “I’m going to cut your finger off” and “I’m going to beat you up”. We do not talk like that to him at home. The last straw happened. My husband took him to school at 8am. They said they weren’t ready for him and asked my husband to wait in the car and they’d come out to get him. At 8:18 my husband took him back in and dropped him off. Breakfast is at 8:30. I received a call at 9:00 that I needed to come pick him up because he was hitting and had “intentionally” pushed a just 2 yo backwards causing the child to hit the table. (Keep in mind this only gave my grandson maybe 20 minutes of playtime). I asked why a 2yo was in with the 3, 4, and 5 year olds and was told they put them together for free time. My 3 year old grandson plays hard…but is never mean. I called my husband and asked him to pick up our grandson. I called an hour later and my husband had just picked my grandson up. My husband said he told them he wanted to see the video of the incident. He was told he had to get permission from the owner. He then asked if they have cameras and was told yes. He then asked if the cameras worked and was told they would be fixed next week. My grandson was in the backseat and said to me “Oma, I’m such a bad boy. I assured he he was not. When I got home from work my grandson came up to me and, with his head down and shoulders slumped said again “Oma, I’m such a bad boy”. Who tells a 3 year old they are bad?? Why are his teachers telling him that, they are supposed to nurture and teach, not make a child feel ashamed. That was his last day at this daycare. I will NEVER recommend this place.
