Unprofessional. Rude. Juvenile.
I recently had a terrible experience when my child's father started dating one of the care providers at the center. My worries grew after hearing concerning stories from my own child about her dad and the girl, I began to receive odd, rude looks, uncomfortable hellos and goodbyes from the girl and the staff as they all appeared to be close friends. I brought up my concerns to the mother/daughter owners which were only met with apathy, defensiveness, and blaming my child of just making up stories and told me I could go elsewhere. After the discussions, I was treated very rudely and blamed of a payment situation after re-applying for state funding. I was more than willing to pay out of pocket until it was figured out but the owners turned me and my child's services away. I was inconvenienced and needed to find other care without any kind of notice while already being at my job. It was awful. So we left.
The owners made me feel like I didn't have a right to feel concerned as my child's mother. I felt like l could no longer trust my child with anyone at the center. I felt like I was mistreated and put in many uncomfortable situations and it bothered me that the school had no policy against employee/parent personal relationships, because it obviously caused problems that resulted in taking my business elsewhere. It clearly didn't concern them in the least bit.
Not only this situation, but I had other ideas about the school that lead me to find another means of childcare. It was constantly dirty and odorous. The center had very little communication with the parents about the kids, activities, prosress, etc., it was over-crowded with children that may have violoated some codes, and their turn-over rate seemed quite high to me. Which I'm not surprised about.
My child and I deserved better.
