About the Provider

Description: Kids Castle Learning Center currently has three locations, two centers in the Decatur area and one in Springfield, Illinois. Our goal is to provide child care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age, in a safe and educational environment. We will provide care to all children regardless of race, gender, and economical background. We strive to be the best Child Care Center in the area. We take pride in the education aspect of our organization.

Kids Castle’s hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We provide breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack to all of the children on a daily basis. All meals and snack are in accordance with the Illinois State Board of Education regulations through the state food program. Our menus are posted in each classroom for the convenience of our parents and staff. Our cooks have their sanitation license and are expected to keep it current. They also have training in First Aid and CPR.

As part of our promise to provide the kind of care and education the parents want for their children, we feel that the parents should be involved every step of the way. We encourage all parents to visit anytime, call as much as they would like and join us for field trips or special family events at the center. We are here for the children and our parents. We work together as a team to ensure your child’s safety and education.

With that said, we feel the first five years of childhood are the most important years in development and learning. We provide a creative educational curriculum that will help children to reach their fullest potential. The lessons will be developmentally appropriate and will develop the child physically, intellectually, emotionally as well as socially. We encourage the children to explore and develop at his or her own pace.

Kids Castle Learning Center takes certain measures to ensure the safety of the children. Each morning, upon arrival at the center, we require all parents to sign in their children into the Pro Care computer system. Each individual will be able to choose two four to eight digit codes that will allow them to clock their children in and out each day. After signing the children into the computer system, we encourage our parents to take their children to their appropriate teacher/classroom. At the end of the day, upon departure we ask our parents to sign their children out of the computer system before retrieving them from their classroom. Each individual who is on the pick-up list is required to provide a photo ID before being able to pick up children. Along with our computer system we also have all of our doors locked at all times. Parents as well as guests have to check in at the office before proceeding to the classroom where their children maybe. At this current time our Maynor location has security cameras in the hallways as well as on the outside of our premises. We take all of these measures to protect the children in our care as well as our staff.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

Please DO NOT ever take your child to this daycare, if you a toddler or younger! This place is NOT for younger children. They make it look all wonderful when you sign up your child and take a tour. They should be excellent for the price you have to pay too.

Its very expensive and they don't communicate with parents very well. All they care about is MONEY NOT OUR CHRILDEN. 1st day I took my son nobody knew he was coming , they never planned for his arrival, but ACCPETED Money. They have too many kids it 1 class and just 2 teachers , my son felt very neglected and unhappy from day 1 . I was made to pay 750 for 1 month with an understanding my son is attending a-part & I paid very Monday, after a week I took my son out for vacation I come back owing 750 , when I paid before leaving and the receptionist made it clear I don't owe till we return next Monday the a balance will be 200 & something. The assistance direct has no customer services and can't speak with parents, her attitude sticks & she has no professionalism, she forced me to pay like I refused and I was never given an explanation.

Please DO NOT ever take your child to this daycare if they are a toddler or younger! This place is NOT for younger children. They make it look all wonderful when you sign up your child and take a tour. They should be excellent for the price you have to pay too. The owner said it is so expensive because they have to pay for the new building!! Clearly the money does NOT go to your child's care! I asked them to please not give my child juice because their menu says they give juice. One of the teachers got snippy and told me they never give juice..what?? They also claim to give your child "breakfast". The first day I dropped her off at breakfast they each had a small bowl of orange slices with an ADULT spoon and a handful of dry cereal. NO ONE even helps them eat!! These are under age 2 children! The worst was when I picked her up. She had been bruised up from an "accident" they said. Of course, there are only 2 teachers to care for 13 children!! I found out they get LUNCH at 10:45 am, which I'm sure she had to try and eat by herself, and a handful of snacks in the afternoon which the teacher admitted most kids don't eat. So by the time I pick her up at 5:30 she was clearly not acting normal. She is normaly very happy and energetic but she was very catatonic like. Long story short, the last time she had anything to eat was at 10:45. The doctor said she was very dehydrated and had low blood suger!! Needless to say she will NEVER go back! This place LIES right to your face and your children suffer for it! They charge a fortune and can't even watch or FEED these poor kids! All they care about is how much money they can make from you. PLEASE don't send your poor kids here. This was at the new building but I'm sure they are all the same.

They claim that they use Enfamil, where in fact they use a generic brand from Sam's called Simply Right. My son has severe eczema, he broke out the next day because they lie about the formula they use, and my son has always on Enfamil. When I picked up my son the first day, I saw the teacher prepared the bottle using the generic brand. Then I spoke to the staff who worked in the front, she still insisted that Enfamil was the brand been used. I wrote an email to the owner, he never responded. I picked their new location not because of the formula they use, I liked their new facility being very new, clean and roomy. The owner and the staffs should be honest about what they feed to our kids. I don't have a problem with a generic brand, i'm willing to bring my own formula. I just got upset due to the fact that they lied in my face. My son also got hands and foot disease that they never informed the parents about the virus going around.
