I do not recommend this daycare center. They are neglectful in stopping a problem or reporting it properly. Our son was in the 1-2 year old classroom (Seahorses). In a few months time he was bitten by one specific child eleven times…
I’m aware biting is normal behavior for children of this age range. What is not normal nor acceptable is how this situation was handled by the director Karina, owner, and teachers. I approached the director after bite four to ask if she can speak with the teachers to implement ways to keep the biter away from my son. After bite six I told the teachers and director I was upset nothing had been done to change the proximity of the biter with my son. After bite eight I told one of the owners about the problem and his response was it is the Karina’s job to handle it. He did not help at all nor follow up with me. There were days he was bitten twice in one day. My husband and I watched on the cameras and not one teacher ever separated the biter from the class. I’m aware many other kids were bitten but the director told me my son was bitten the most. Which means she was well aware the biter targeted my son more often and they did nothing to keep him safe. Upon bite 11, Karina told both me and my husband she was expelling the child. I found out the next day from two employees that was a lie and they kept the biter in another room where she continued to cause a problem and then eventually expelled her. The fact that my son came home with large bruises on this many occasions was a form of neglect from all professionals involved. They failed to keep my son safe from a kid who repeatedly bruised him. I have photos of all 11 bites. They allowed a problem to occur repeatedly and not to just my son! It proves they don’t take the proper steps necessary to keep a healthy environment and they lie. Also important to note, they did not fill out the incident reports properly because he was bitten multiple times in one day it it only reported once which is why I have photos. Also, some days they didn’t have them filled out at all. They failed my son. They failed to do what many other daycares would have done.
