On October 1st, our Academy Director was remotely monitoring the Infant room and identified two teachers behaving in an inappropriate manner with the children in the room. The Owner and Assistant Director were immediately notified and the teachers were removed from the room and terminated later that evening. After additional review of the video from the ay, both the Owner and Academy Director reported the teachers to Children Protective Services. The Owner and The Academy Director also notified the parents of the infants involved in the incident as well as the State Licensing Consultant. We have provider both Child Protective Services and the Westfield Police Department with the video tapes of the infant room. In addition, we have implemented a formal weekly audit process of all of the classrooms where random review of recorded activities is completed. In addition, we have updated our mandatory training program to include additional classes pertinent to teachers assigned to the infant room. |

It had been left up to the employee to schedule and complete the drug and TB test and, thus, had not been completed yet. As a result of the noncompliance, we have changed our new hire process. All new hire paperwork, including drug, TB tests an background checks must be completed and properly filed prior to a new employee working in any of the classrooms. In addition, we have also audited all staff records and have confirmed compliance with all respect to the rest of our staff. Finally, the employee in question is no longer employed as of 10/1/2020. |
