My grandson has been attending Hanaiaulu Childcare Center for about 2 years now. This review is based upon observation/interaction with center's teachers/staff with conclusions carefully drawn.
Hanaiaulu offers educational activities such as employing drawing (hand tracing then coloring/decorating the picture) help young children to experience a large number of stimuli.
In addition to the academic learning from a well qualified staff, the school provides an 'ohana based environment which has enhanced the learning experience for the children. Having this safe ohana learning environment is key in the learning process. My grandson's vocabulary in both Hawaiian and English has exploded during his time at school. His social skills have blossomed under the care and instruction of the staff.
The existing childcare facility provides the opportunity for Windward students to attend college without worrying about their child(ren). As Dr. Eschenberg as said "Through this learning, they can lead more successful lives, giving back to their communities."
Although parental influences are probably somewhat important in child(ren)'s early life, the learning experience provided by Hanaiaulu Childcare Center will certainly have considerable influences on the development of the child(ren) as well.
