I usually don’t do reviews but for this I have too. We started at this daycare in May 2019. There was some concerns from the start but we brushed them off because we loved the teachers and the room our one year old daughter was going into we signed paperwork and gave a check that day. Our first concerns began when we went in to drop off the final paperwork about a week before she was suppose to start they had the wrong start date for her as well as the wrong room. Like I said we brushed this off as a clerical error. The teachers in the infant 2 room were fantastic and I couldn’t have been happier with my daughters care. A couple weeks ago they decided they were going to transition my daughter to a new room “waddlers.” I should have trusted my gut the first day when I walked in there with my daughter and not a single teacher introduced themselves to me and they barely answered my questions. But again I gave them the benefit of the doubt after speaking with the director who was apologetic and did reassure me it would be okay. Fast forward to 8/16/19 I picked my daughter up and watched from inside the building her “teacher” standing at the fence socializing with her back fully turned to the kids not paying any attention. My daughters face was BRIGHT red. I waited it out because she was running around. It got worse not better. She was sunburnt to the point we took her to the walk in and if I could post the picture here I would. Monday comes around her father goes in and expresses the concerns and states we don’t want the teacher looking after her anymore. They again were apologetic and agreed. In all fairness her dad was very upset because we had a very long sleepless miserable weekend because of the burn. Then today 8/21/19 after a lengthy phone call with director she stated the reason sunscreen wasn’t applied to my 15 MONTH old daughter was because she thrashes and they were afraid to get it in her eye and maybe a stick of sunscreen would be better. This was after the fact they had already taken her outside without sunscreen. I then asked about the lack of attention being paid not only to my daughter but to the other child on the playground when the teacher was at the back of the fence to socializing with her back to the kids to which the director proceeded to ask in the years that I worked in childcare I never turned my head for a second to talk to a coworker. I was absolutely disgusting with the excuses for the lack of care for my daughter. Needless to say my daughter was pulled from the center 30 minutes after she was dropped off.
