Description: The Downtown Optimist Club of Houston, Texas was founded in 1924, making it the oldest club in Houston. The club has a long history of community service, including many Optimist International programs, charities and founding Boys and Girls Harbor in nearby La Porte, Texas. Members of the Downtown Optimist Club have the opportunity to share in a special fellowship in an atmosphere of hopefulness, enthusiasm and confidence. You will be welcomed into a friendly, fun environment where viewpoints and solutions are exchanged with other concerned professionals, business men and women, educators and folks from all walks of life who care to give of themselves to better our communities.
