My daughter started attending horizons kids at a young age and practically grew up there. Horizons provided an amazing atmosphere and numerous opportunities for my daughter to expand her social skills and to succeed. Both the after school enrichment program and the summer camp have provided my child with all positive experiences. Kether and all her staff are always there with a smile and are all so flexible and awesome! We love horizons kids!
Our two oldest boys (ages 11 and 8) have attended Horizons Kids after care and summer school programs for 3 years, and our youngest (age 5) started from the current school year.
Kether, Larissa, Joel, and their staff do an outstanding job of caring for the children, providing a balance of creative play, outside activity, and homework support, all within a safe and structured environment. Moreover, the boys love it. As an added bonus, a good number of their classmates and friends from the local schools attend Horizons, which helps deepen their friendships and social skills.
My wife and I frequently discuss how lucky we are to have Horizons are part of our lives.
My 3 children have been going to Horizons Kids for over 6 years, and we've had nothing but extremely positive experiences. Kether is responsive, responsible, nurturing, and flexible. We also love her teachers, most of whom have also been there for years.
My children have literally grown up at Horizons, and I thank Kether and staff for all they have done to help provide my children a safe and fun environment!
This school says they won't discriminate but they definately did in the case of my daughter. I was very clear that my daughter has attention and fine motor problems when I spoke with the director at sign up. I told her it would take my daughter a week or so to adjust. She said it would be no problem. Yet in less then 4 hours into the first day I get a call that my daughter could not attend the camp. My daughter has no behavioral problems and just needs redirection and time to adjust. I feel the school made a decision to kick my daughter out of the camp without even giving her a chance because of her disability. To make a judgement on a 7 year old behavior in less then 4 hours on the first day in a new enviornment is ridiculous. My daughter attends a regular ed classroom and if the school can handle it with 24 kids in a classroom I can't believe this camp can't with a supposed 1:8 ratio. I feel my daughter was unfairly treated.
