Being a first time mom and having to go back to work is the scariest thing, but its something all moms go through. I was referred to Lisa and the second I spoke with her on the phone I knew why. We took a tour of her house and instantly I felt at ease. Her house is ALWAYS clean and ALWAYS smells delicious! She has the perfect set up for the kids and everything is so organized. When I walked out I was crying and calling family to tell them how happy I was that I found such an amazing place for my daughter. She has a lady named Marcella who works with the younger kids and they both are truly the most caring people I have ever met. They love each and every one of their kids as if they were their own. I constantly get complements on how far ahead my daughter is and I know that it is because of Lisa and Marcella. Once she started daycare she was coming home smarter each day. My daughter now knows her ABC's, shapes, colors, senses, animals, sign language and so much more. Did I mention she is a little over two and she was barely speaking when she started there. I absolutely trust them with my daughter and highly recommend them!
This was the first child care center I felt comfortable leaving my two year old son. Previously, he was at home with me. Hollinger Family Child Care was a calm environment for him to transition from being out of my home for the majority of the day. I was comfortable dropping him off because I knew he would be cared for, fed, taught and respected. He's now been going there for a year and continues to learn every day. It's truly helped him blossom.
It was hard for us to feel comfortable choosing a child care.. our kids went to one other child care and we were not comfortable. Since my kids are a year apart I wanted to choose a home day care so they could be together. We toured Lisa's and instantly felt comfort. Our best friends oldest son attended Lisa's and we also had a recommendation from another parent whose child attends. My children have excelled so much! They have learned sign language and my daughter always comes home singing a different song! My daughter has also learned letters and numbers. I have picked up my kids up at all hours and the kids are always being watched and playing. I highly recommend this hold care!
I was beyond relieved and happy when I found Lisa! After interviewing 10 different daycare facilities I eliminated all of them immediately after interviewing with Lisa. Not only is it a home daycare but its a home daycare with amazing rates. My son is now in his 2nd year with Lisa. My son loves Miss Lisa and Miss Marcy. They have taught him so much and words can not express how greatful I am to have my son there. They are so wonderful to my family and my son gets so much love when he is there. They go above and beyond what any daycare facility can offer and I would not have my son any other place then with Lisa. My family experienced a rough financial hardship a few months back and Lisa did everything she could to help my family so my son didn't have to leave and Lisa has been such a blessing to us. She's so kindhearted and caring and just knowing how much she puts into her daycare so all the kids learning levels are where they need to be just makes me feel so confident my son will do amazing when he goes into kindergarten. When I pick my son up he is so excited to show me everything he learned that day and all his art projects he finishes. He never wants to leave when I pick him up he's always asking to stay longer. It warms my heart how much he is into his education and they make learning fun for him. Ill be keeping my son there until Kindergarten! Such an amazing person Lisa is and I'm so happy to have found her.!!
My oldest attended Lisa’s Daycare for a half year regularly. My son is 4.5 now and is very quite and normally takes a long time to open up. When he first attended he had been having some behavioral issues with our recent move and with his dad being away at school for the year. This was the first and only daycare he had ever attended, so was new to us both. He was super nervous as so was I. I am a super over protective work from home mom, who didn’t even trust my own family members with my boys while I was in the house with them. Within just a few days he had warmed up to her and was excited to go play with his friends. Within a few weeks the behavioral issues at home had disappeared and he was very content. During his time there I had him tested for allergies and found him allergic to milk and tree nuts. Lisa was so kind to accommodate his food allergies. She even bought soy milk for him. She always made sure to check all labels before giving anything to him. The thing I liked best about her was she cooked healthy food for the kids and only gave juice twice weekly. My family eats healthy at home so food is very important to me. My son loves fruits, but at the time wasn’t too good about veggies. She was able to get him eating a lot of new things he wouldn’t try at home. I had to take my son out because my husband returned from school, but as soon as he begins working I will be sending both my kids to Lisa if she is available. Looking at the other options out there, especially regarding their food can not be compared to her daycare. Other reasons I liked her daycare is because it is small and in home and has a family atmosphere. It is not intimidating like a normal daycare facility. Her hours are also a huge plus, compared to other daycares where you would have to pick up by 3:30.
Its hard to believe that I have known Lisa for 13 years. I met Lisa when I was looking for childcare for my oldest son who is now 13.Lisa took care of him for 3 years. I had my second child and decided to stay home because he was a preemie and had a lot of health issues. Since then I have had my third child and she has been with Lisa since she was five weeks old. I am an extremely picky mom when it comes to my children and there is no one I would trust more in my absence than Lisa. Lisa is an outstanding provider and goes above and beyond for all of her daycare parents and children.Sometimes my child brings a favorite toy/blanket and they are always found in her cubby each afternoon. Lisa truly has a big heart and it shows through the children in her care. When we are heading to Lisa's in the morning my daughter smiles and laughs and says Lisa and Marcy. She is so excited to go there. There is no question how much my daughter loves them both and how much they love her. My daughter is now two years old and is talking in full sentences and is learning something new everyday.I know exactly what my child does every day. From time to time I get text messages and pictures too of what my child is doing throughout the day, I am very thankful. I am so happy to have found Lisa, as I can go to work and not have to worry about my child, and that's a great feeling!I highly recommend Hollinger Large Family Child Care and I want to thank Lisa and Marcy for loving my children as if they were their own.
One of the hardest parts of parenting has been having to work away from home. As many parents will agree, you can never be to cautious when it comes to your children. When my oldest child was born I quit my high profile job in business to stay home with him. After two years of staying home with him I unfortunately had to go back to work. The anxiety I experienced when sending him to daycare was very distressing, and I have felt the same with my other two children. Ideally I would stay home with all of them, but my situation doesn't allow for that to happen. After sending my youngest child to a home daycare the first year of her life our sitter decided not to babysit any longer, and gave us 1 days notice. To say I was worried is completely understating the situation. I was terrified for my daughter because once again I had to research facilities and decide if a home daycare was the best fit for my daughter, or should I entertain other ideas. After several weeks (yes I took vacation for this process) of looking and many recommendations, I found the Hollinger daycare. Fortunately for me I have flexibility in my job. This allows me to "pop" in and pick up my daughter. Because of this I have seen her outside playing, inside the house eating snack, back in the play room etc. What I love about this facility is that even though it is a home they are licensed and inspected. I also love that it is a home, because my daughter gets plenty of one on one attention as well as makes lots of friends. My daughter is a favorite toy and blanket kind of girl and she is always able to bring her security items, which are then found in her cubby at the end of the day. And the biggest plus of all is that Lisa and Marcy celebrate with me on my daughters accomplishments. They send lots of crafts and learning sheets home so I can see what she has been learning. And when I drop of my daughter in the morning, she is greeting with lots of good mornings from staff and the other children. By the time that I pick up, no matter what my daughter has been doing for the day, she smiles and runs excitingly to me ready to share all the fun stuff she has been doing. Do I wish I could stay home and raise all my children myself all hours of the day? ABSOLUTELY! But, because that isn't possible for me I at least can count my blessings and know that they are safe, loved and in good hands.
My son has attended Hollinger Family Day Care since he was an infant. I am a very..you can say picky mom. My son had attended 4 separate day cares, some home, some facilities prior to finding Hollinger Family Day Care. I was that mom that would walk in and see something I didn't approve of and instantly remove my child. I was referred to her by another day care ( which didn't have an opening for his age at the time) that advised me they would only trust her if they had to use a day care for their child (other than hers.) I asked teachers at my older children's elementary school who also had nothing but great things to say about her. I was blessed that she had an opening. I toured/ interviewed her and loved her home and her instantly. I come at different times of the day to pick my son up. NEVER have I seen anything alarming. The children are clean, happy, and well fed!! She and her staff member are a blessing to have in our life's! if you are lucky enough that she has an opening, your child is in great hands!!! It's an awesome feeling to leave my child with someone I know truly loves him and not just a pay check!
I do NOT recommend this facility. Yes, it is a very clean environment but the children are left unattended to from time to time. (seen it myself) I sneakily walked up to witness the children being spoken to in a violent tone (not once but 3 times) I brought it to the attention of Lisa all 3 times but got swept under the rug every time.
There is no level of trust between teachers and parents. Lisa herself has caused drama between myself and another parent for no reason. My son has been there for roughly 2 years and as he grew out of clothes we never got them back and there have been times we've picked him up with other children's diapers or clothing on but they never had a logical reason as to why he wasn't wearing his own. The 2 teachers do not communicate well at all. Any incident that occurred in their facility, they'd call my son a liar and say that happened at home.
This is afantastic home care. If you want your child in a clean safe environment bring them here. My daughter was at this daycare and was reading and writing at 3 1/2 years old. Wish I didn't have to move. She attended from 2 months til age 4. Smartest decision I ever made! We miss the family atmosphere and the loving welcoming feeling we always received. Lisa is a gift to children and parents. I myself and my daughter are lucky to have been with Lisa, we couldn't have been happier.
Our daughter has attended Hollinger Childcare for 1.5 years. Our daughter started attending there after trying an overpriced, too commercialized, cramped classroom style center & a home daycare that didn't focus on learning and was more of a sitter. I was so thankful to find Hollinger's Childcare! I was nervous at first. This is not my first child, but since I've worked at daycares previously, had poor experiences with home childcare centers in the past, I was scared. But I have to say, since my child has attended Hollinger Childcare, she is happy & clean every day. I feel more safe with our child there then some family members! She has learned her alphabet, shapes, colors, and to even write her name & she's not even 3 yet. It is always positive & organized. I love Hollinger Childcare & HIGHLY recommend them. I am willing to talk with anyone that needs a reference!
